I have finally decided to actually give JUDDD a go. It was my first day today and I started with a down day. I've checked on the website and my DD cals are 406 and my UD cals are 2028.

I did a VLCD (Slim and Save) for 12 weeks, then had a 2 week break and then I got back on plan and did it for another 4 weeks but gave up on the 28th July... I have been off plan ever since. During my time on Slim and Save I lost 39.25 lb and for the last 4 ish weeks on plan I was skipping a pack, tut tut... mainly because I'm a slower loser and was desperate to lose the lbs I regained on my 2 week break.

Anyway after being off plan for 2 months I knew I needed to restart before I regained all the weight I lost. The thing is I couldn't face the thought of not being able to eat anything, be so restricted and grumpy all the time. The thought of restarting a VLCD did not please me at all.

I'm planning on giving JUDDD a try for at least 4 weeks if I can. I'm also going to be doing alternate days so no doubles for me for now anyway.
If it doesn't work out for me then I'll have to go back to the dreaded VLCD.

So my start weight for this diary is 14st 3.25 lb / 199.25 lb

Todays menu:
Curry pot noodle 392 cal
Few glasses of doctor pepper zero 9 ish calories

Total 401

Looking forward to my UD tomorrow because I'm feeling rather hungry and my tummy keeps rumbling. I'm sure I'll get used to it though. If I can do a VLCD then I can handle a DD every other day.

Morning, I'm sure you'll be fine with your dd today- you know all the ways to avoid the hunger cravings!

Day 2 - Up Day

Hi all and thanks for stpping by my diary xx

It was day 2 today and an up day. I kinda didn't know what to eat.. so what I did have wasn't very healthy ;) lol. I was feeling really hungry in bed last night and during the day, too busy to eat anything until late afternoon.

I took my measurements today so I have something to compare with as I see that we can lose inches/get smaller with very small/no losses on the scales. If I can get into a size 14 again one day that would make me very happy!

So todays menu was:
3 x chicken caesar wraps 720 cal
Ski fruit strawberry mousse 79 cal
glass of dr pepper zero 3 cal
micro chicken curry 465 cal
3 x garlic ciabatta slices 288 cal
glass of dr pepper zero 3 cal
micro chicken curry 465 cal (got hungry again and didn't know what else to have to use up the rest of my calories)

Total 2023

Down day in the morning. Haven't a clue what I'm going to have yet though.

Feeling very positive right now diet wise. I know it's only day 2 but on any other of my diets (always done silly very restrictive diets) I would feel good at the start because I was determined to lose weight but the fact that I was on very little calories and always hungry it was constantly in the back of my mind and I'd be drooling over tv ads, smells while out etc and it would all get too much and I would end up binging then it would get out of control. Basically I have no dreads so far with this diet, no thinking "in 12 weeks I can have a week off" etc. I just hope it works out for me and I do start to shrink. Just seen the time so off too bed now

Day 3 - Down Day

Day 3 and a down day today. Already had near enough all my cals, just a few left which I'll use up with 1 or 2 more glasses of dr pepper zero

Todays food
4 x Tesco cream crackers with marg on top 203 cal
Glass of dr pepper zero 3 cal
Low fat muller rice 196 cal

Total so far 402
 
Well done . I find pot off low cal home made soup good to snack on . A good one also someone else posted the oats so simple sachet made with water is only about 130 cal Xx

It's gonna be fun trying to figure out what is best to eat on my DD's to keep me satisfied. I know it's only my 2nd down day but the hunger is there and the only thing keeping me going and stopping me from cheating is knowing tomorrow is an up day :eek:
Ohh cool, I was thinking of buying some oats while shopping at the weekend but didn't even bother to check calories, will pick some up next time I'm shopping xx
 
Oats so simple 1 quid in Morrison at the moment too. I picked some up

I'm using some packs and Greek yog on down days currently, see how the hunger goes!!

Day 4 - Up Day

Day 4 and an up day

I've had a proper crap day today, nothing to do with food or JUDDD or anything... just something in life in general. Never mind I'll soon get over it. When I got home after my crap day I felt so much better though, normally when dieting/trying to lose weight if I had a bad day I would immediately turn to food and binge and then mess up my diet, but because today was an up day it worked out perfectly phew!

I feel kinda guilty with what I've eaten, it feels like a lot... well since I'm meant to be dieting it does anyway. I did also go over my allowance of 2028 slightly by about 68 calories

Still feel stuffed! feels good though ;)

Todays food
Ski fruit strawberry mousse 79 cal
for dinner I had 2 burgers in white buns with a cheese slice and onions... total cals for all this was 986 cal
I also had a tin of marrowfat peas with my dinner 116 cal
and also had some potatoes 186 cal
glass of dr pepper 3 cal
2 x toasted muffins with marg 379 cal
(and here's where I feel really naughty!) 1 packet of walkers cheese & onion crisps 173 cal
1 ripple 174 cal

So my total calories for today was 2096

I'm sure I read somewhere on the website to drink plenty of water... I'm not doing it but need to. Nothing new though, I sucked at my water intake while on a VLCD too

Hi Caroline_Louise and thank you. Oh gawd VLCD's are ok if you've got a lot of motivation to keep you on track. I'm addicted to food too much, which I know is not a good thing and I need to work on it. 'this is just a dream in comparison...' hell yeah! it definitely is xx
 
Day 5 - Down Day

It's the first down day that I haven't woken up feeling hungry with a rumbly tummy. Hopefully it continues on my next down days.

I still haven't eaten anything yet today. I think I am gonna try and save my 406 cals until this evening.

Lol today's been really hard for me! Clock watching from 9.30!

Hi, you seem to have got off to a really good start. I also save all my cals for the evening on DDs... I find it easier to cope on nothing all day rather than just a tiny amount lol

I found my first 2 DD's pretty hard, the hunger was really working on me! I just have to keep reminding myself tomorrow's an up day. I have a feeling in about an hour I'll be having to remind myself again ;)

Thanks scarlett2020. The hunger is slowly kicking in now and it's just gone 3:30pm so I'm trying to hold out until at least 5pm before I eat. I haven't really got anything in that I can have split into, most of my stuff conatains too many calories so I'll only be able to eat 1, or maybe 2 things on a down day to stay within my 406 calorie allowance

I only just managed it! I spoke too soon and the hunger started kicking in big time lol

It's now nearly 12am and I'm hungry so looking forward to my up day tomorrow. I'm hoping eventually I wont be so keen for my ups and be so addicted to food. I don't smoke, drink or gamble but I'm addicted to food argh xx

So todays food
1 glass of dr pepper zero 3 cal
a packet of egg fried rice 410 cal

Total 413 calories

Tomorrow I might have some marmite on toast... never thought the day I'd say marmite on toast, normal white bread on a diet! ha :cool:. Funny how the simple things can make me so happy. I've done a lot of low, low carb diets (20g or less per day) and never stuck to them because everything I like is carb loaded and the main thing I missed was bread.

Well I'm off to bed to dream of the food I can have tomorrow :rolleyes::D
 
Day 6 - Up Day

I managed to pull something in my back earlier and it's been agony all day, only now easing off. Lol I also have a bad knee seems I'm old before my time just lately.

Went down to the cemetery with my mum and the dog to put some flowers for my grandad. He died 24 years ago yesterday.

I'm trying my hardest to stick to my calorie allowances and found myself eating some stuff today for the sake of it, not because I was hungry but just to get to my 2028 calories.

My food today is very similar to my up day on wednesday but I'll still log it anyway

2 toasted muffins with margarine on 410.5
2 burgers in white buns with cheese and onions 1049 eek!
Dr pepper 3
3 slices of toast with all sorts on top 442.5
2x weight watchers rich chocolate desserts 124

Uh oh. While typing this I just realised I totally forgot to add up my peas and potatoes! No wonder I felt so stuffed and couldn't work out why I had so many cals left when feeling so full... It's because I bloody didn't! Oh well that means I've gone over my up day cal allowance by quite a bit unintentionally. Not good when it's my first weigh in on Monday.

Total 2331. 303 over my allowance :/
