Medication?

As mentioned my mother in law has joined us on the journey. She is currently on a lot of medication, including metformin for type 2 diabetes. I said she should talk to her gp and dietician but I'm not sure she will.

Anyone with similar issues on this diet? What advice can you give?

She deffo should check in with her doctor. I know one of the long term lovely ladies has type 2 ..(let me try and remeber which one!!)

My mum has type 2 and just cant stick on ll , nurse keeps telling her to stop... (not sure this is the best advice)..know they have done a study recently with low calorie diets reversing type 2 diabetes. But deffinately needs to be under close supervision

(sure an expert will be in soon suzi xx)

Thanks Rebekah, I thought so. I recommended she did 2 or 3 packs and healthy snacks and a meal to start and to speak to GP but she's determined to do it the normal way.

I told her to be careful with meds as the dose etc. will probably need altered.

I'll see what people say today then call her tonight.

I think shes worried that the GP will tell her to stop when she finally feels she's found something that can work.

Hun its weasy that was taking metformin, think she's off it now :) Xx

I'd definitely check with a doctor, I'm sure It could be a dangerous state for a diabetic to be in and ought to be monitored closely. Hope she decides to do the right thing xx
