Hi All,
I started on Slimming World on 27 July 2011 as I wish to change my lifestyle as well as lose weight.
I'm 5'2" and then weighed 11st 12lbs. I held it extremely well (all over) so it was actually difficult for some people to understand why I wanted to lose weight, convinced there was another reason other than excess fat as to why I was that heavy. I invested in some scales that measure body fat and water and body fat definitely is the problem!
I suffer with flat back, which does tend to worsen with excess weight for me so that is another reason to lose weight.
I've always enjoyed exercising and despite my weight have always been conscious about what I put in my mouth, so the slimming world education has not been a hardship. The only thing I struggled with the start with is all the sweeteners etc as they're something I'd always avoided as 'unhealthy'. I still won't put sweetener in food unless absolutely necessary - I don't substitute this with anything I just leave plain.
I'm currently 10st 11.5lbs, having weighed in yesterday and got my stone award.
During the four weeks of September I was very half-hearted about the plan due to family visiting, my birthday, amongst other things. I lost two of the weeks and gained another to and ultimately only lost about half a pound or so that month! I'm thoroughly back on track though now and hoping to average two pounds a week up until Christmas. I'm well on the way having lost 2.5 lbs last week and 1.5lbs this week!
My challenge doing this is only that I'm really impatient for results. This sometimes leads me to feel 'what's the point' and want to binge on chocolate etc. Bearing in mind I was never one to binge particularly or majorly overeat I was just making some of the wrong food choices, often unaware of the damage certain foods and drinks were doing to my waistline.
The Syns value system really works for me as it shows just how much of those types of foods and drinks you can have before putting on weight. This is just the information I needed before hand!
I go to group and find that really helps, mainly for inspirational reasons!
Anyway, I'm hoping I can make a diary here to keep a note on my weight loss journey.
