microwave rice - help - am I syning this right

Hi,

I am new to SW and have a question on how to syn microwavable rice? In the book I got with my starter pack it says that all pouches are 1.5 syns but when I put the nutritional values into the online syn calculator it says that the pouch is 18 syns!

Does anyone know the real syn value as I obviously can't afford to be having 18 syns with my lunch!

Have you counted the rice as a free food with the calculator?
What's the name of the pouch and flavour? I'll look it up on the SW app for you x

The rice is Bilash long grain microwavable rice from Aldi. I didn't count it as free food on the calculator as I thought that you had to cook the rice yourself (if you know what I mean) for it it be free...

long grain 250g pouch 1.5 syns
for the pilau a 250g pouch is 1 syn
and basmati for a 250g pouch 2 syns

Look at the list of free foods in your book, if it says it's free count it as a free food on the calculator x

and it counts as free even if you don't cook it yourself.

It's best to ask if you aren't sure though. If you have a smart phone and you're a SW member the SW app is really useful! xx
