More free foods

Hi guys & girls! So I work night shifts (19:30-8:00, killer!) so my thing is when I'm on a roll of nights , which is usually 3 or 4 in a row, don't eat half as much as I would if I'm not working. I have breakfast when I get home which is usually muesli with yogurt, banana & honey. Then I sleep all day, wake up & have dinner. Then during the night I snack on fruit, quorn sausages, boiled eggs, a low syn snack (usually a kitkat or curly wurly) & a yogurt.
I was thinking if I have free foods for breakfast instead of my current breakfast it would be better for my weight loss. Like having scrambled eggs & beans or something. What do you think??x

I think if you are losing the way you are eating now and feeling satisfied and enjoying your food why change it? Perhaps try it for a week or two to see if there is any change or even alternate breakfasts?

Are you using the muesli as your HexB? If so, what would you use instead and when would you eat it?

Do you need something quick to prepare when you get in? Perhaps you could leave something ready which perhaps only needs a quick blast in the microwave?

As Pumpkin has said, try different things - even just different cereals, or toasted wholemeal bread which would still give you your HexB. Remember the plan does require a daily HexB for the fibre and other health benefits although it can be skipped occasionally.

(I assume you Syn the honey? Could you save the Synnage by using sweetener?)

Yea I'm using muesli as HE. I'd have maybe wholemeal bread with beans on toast? I'm going to try it & see how I go. Good idea using sweetener instead of honey aswel, thankyou!

Pleased to be of service!

You might get more replies if you explain why you are wondering if it's worth including more free foods. You appear to have just two meals a day and snack a lot during the night shift -I assume that's to help you cope - so are you worried that you might not be eating enough?

If your sleep is being disturbed because of hunger then yes, you should eat more before bed. If you have beans on toast, you could have an egg or two, mushrooms and even add chopped bottled peppers to the beans AND have your yogurt and banana! Or better still, substitute the banana with super speed fruit such as strawberries, melon etc. However, don't eat more if you don't need it! I try to work on the maxim of 'just because you can, doesn't mean you should' (but sometimes I do anyway)!

In writing this, it did cross my mind that you actually meant super-free, which is recommended, but not compulsory, on all plans. If so, then the beans don't count as super free, but the mushrooms and fruit do.

Good luck!
