Starting slimfast today picked my wedding dress yesterday and want to loose weight by the time they take my measurements again in August.
 
Woooo Congrats on the upcoming nuptials!!! What a great motivator!! Welcome :D

I've only been doing it for a week but what I found is you need to make your snacks and meals low fat and healthy as opposed to counting calories of an unhealthy snack, you get more for your calories that way! I also found swapping white pasta and rice for brown was less bloating but that may be an individual thing...And you must drink at least 1.5ltrs of water a day

Thanks for the tips, do you have fruit as a snack. How you done in aw week? I have asked about mixing shakes as before I've was having bad stomach on slimfast but better with the asda ones as they are made with water
 
I think others use asda/tesco and still use this forum, if that's what works for you do it, you don't want a funny tummy on top of trying to diet.

I did great until last night :( hubs ordered a curry so I joined in went about 500cals over..... It's ok though I have drawn a line under and I'm back on :D

Yeah I have fruit with say 100g of natural fat free yoghurt! I kinda adapted the plan a bit I have a shake for breakfast then have the rest of calories on food, but it's extremely low fat healthy food (salad, veg, chicken, brown rice, cottage cheese ect) it works for me as I'm still not registering that the shakes a meal not a drink, I can never eat breakfast so I have it then to kick start metabolisim.

The ladies on here introduced me to my fitness pal, that helps with counting the calories and keeping a diary of what you ate, it's great!! do you have a smart phone? Download the app it's free, if not they do have a website and you can set up a free account on it to track your daily calories. I had to buy new kitchen scales (digital ones) so I can measure everything correctly as you might think it doesn't weigh much but it does lol!

Thanks for all your advice, I have just downloaded the app tells me to eat 1280 calories a day. You top have my 1 St shake in a bit

i am doing ultraslim(tesco version) did it for a week and lost 5lb but then i couldnt do the 2nd week,

Just a thought do you usually drink a lot of milk or was it when you started with the shakes as you might be slightly lactose intolerant, I can have cheese yoghurt, things with milk products etc but can't tolerate actual milk, first time I did slimfast I was in pain but it wasn't until I did WW and drank milk every day as part of the diet did I twig it was the milk I couldn't have, I use soya milk now for the shakes and it's fine no problems whatsoever
 
fitnesspal is great, I found it helps with portion sizes etc, plus if you have a good weeks loss you can see what you've eaten to do it

I have milk in my tea and if i have cereal but thats it.

What does everyone else have as snacks?
 
Congratulations on your up and coming wedding... The day I got married was truely the happiest day of my life. Cherish every single moment as the day goes by sooooooo quickly!

For snacks I try and make the most of my 100 calories. If I'm at home u usually have berries and natural yoghurt for breakfast and I'm going to start having homemade soup for lunch. I usually have my last snack after dinner and have a packet of wotsits it squares and I always look forward to having them as it's like a treat

There's a great thread in here about 100 cal snacks which is full of ideas. Id post you the link but I'm in my phone x

Now I'm feeling like a grandma with all you young un's lol

Question of the day what do you guys do if you end up picking at food? Just been out with hubs for coffee so of course he had fish and chips with it so I ended up eating two chips and some of the batter off his fish, not a huge amount but def going to come out at over 100 cals me thinks... so what do you guys do in that situation, just have my second shake and dinner with no snacks, over estimate what I've eaten and use less calories on dinner tonight and have the snacks? just trying to do a bit of damage limitation.....
 
Ah don't be!!

Well, personally I wouldn't count it (unless your picking it things all day, then it becomes a different issue).

For arguments sake you've been out and about today so prob done a bit of walking, that would cover a small indescretion like 2 chips and a bit of batter :D
