My Fresh Start

I've lost count how many fresh starts I have had over the years, all I know is this is not my first, second or third.

Over the last few months I have tried MFP, WW, a VLCD and going it alone with "healthy eating". I'm fed up now with messing about and I want to pick a "diet", change my lifestyle and knuckle down. I have a very big short term incentive. I am getting married in 5 months time. My first dress fitting is in 9 weeks and I have set myself the task of losing 28 lbs in time for this. This may seem alot and a little (or alot) ambitious but I set myself this goal when I was determined to follow a VLCD. Now I have changed my mind on this I don't want to lose the goal. I am not the type of person who will feel down about not reaching it, it will just give me something to strive for.

Anyway, I am joining Slimming World tonight and I plan to give it 100% :) actually looking forward to cooking again and getting back into some swimming.

Since Sunday I have lost 4lbs so my start weight with slimming world will be 4lbs less than my actual start weight.

Well I had a bit of a shock at class! My scales seem to be 2lbs off and obviously dinner/water weight has added to it but JESE! I was 18 stone exactly. WOW, Heaviest I have ever seen on the scales.

Good thing I am in the right frame of mind now to get this GONE. My first target is 16 3. So lets get going.
 
First full day of slimming world.

I missed breakfast - whoops - so my day looks like this

Beans on Toast (HEB)
Chicken stir fry, tons of beans spouts and peppers.

Syns: Hot Chocolate 2 syns (HEA milk) Maltesers 9.5 Syns

I also went swimming for 45 minutes and managed 500 meters :) very pleased with myself
 
Hi Lisa, Well done on making a new start!
One thing that I often feel when anyone says "a new start" accompanied by doing it "100%" is the feeling that you are making a stepping stone to failure right there!
We all have those odd times when things creep up on us or get us down and we turn to the old demon of a good munch..much better to accept that it is likely to happen, adjust your days intake to suit and just carry on with determination.
I record all my "blips" and very often on lookin back they are not as bad or as many as it seems at first.

Great that you have had a good start and swimming is fab too.

Thanks, I am reading the Beck Diet Solution too which is CBT to help with weight loss. I get what you are saying totally and it's definatly a habit I need to break, Im in this for the long haul it's just a do have an aim short term too xx
 
Another day 100% :) plus going swimming again. Very proud of myself herhee

Hi! Just dropping in to say well done for getting started again and good luck on your journey.

You must be really excited for your wedding, I remember the build up to mine and wish I could do it all over again - to the same person though obviously lol :D

I'll keep popping in to see how you're doing :)
 
Thanks CeeCee I am really excited but the stress is setting in too as we have only just booked it so I haven't given myself much time lol.
 
Ok so I have started reading the Beck Diey Solution and it says a lot of things that I have found hard to read, like when I lose the weight I need to work harder than others who have never had a weight problem etc. anyway I have taken a week or two and I think my head is around this now.

Keeping up the exercise, making healthy choices, looking at treats as just that ... Treats! Once in a while things not once a day things. Hoping to make these all new habits soon.

The habits I am working on :

Exercise daily to some degree.

Stop eating when I am satisfied.

Chocolate is not an everyday food (doing really well)

So it must be October time you're getting married? I know it can be stressful but try and enjoy every minute, it goes too quickly!
 
November, I know I'm hoping this my one and only wedding so need to make the most of it :)
 
Tried the magic pancakes this morning, not a fan but perhaps that's my cooking?

Think I'll stick to syncing real ones from now on.
Today has been hectic, had a lot on and I don't know where the morning has gone. I was hoping to fit in some swimming today but not sure i can now. I feel quite annoyed which is a first lol might go for a long walk instead
 
Thanks :) i did managed a 750 metre swim today. It is the only exercise that doesn't hurt my knee and that I enjoy. Which is the main thing, the fact it burns a ton of calories is a bonus.

I had a sneak peak on scales again and I just can't believe my loss so far! It is comparable to someone following a vlcd lol and I am having lots of yummy food :)
 
Oooh it's looking like you're going to get a good loss this week then! What day is your weigh in?

I weigh in on a Wednesday night, I'm not a fan of night weighing lol I'm always heavier ;-)
 
Day 6 of being 100% today and tomorrow will be red days instead of extra easy. I do love a red day to be honest :)

So far my loss is looking like 7lbs so if it sticks at that on Wednesday night I will be over the moon.

My exercise for today was going to be swimming again but I think I'll mix it up a bit and do my kettle bell and a long walk, 4-5 miles.
 
Wow 7lbs will be amazing, bet you can't wait to jump on those scales tomorrow!
