Step 1 Sole Source Need advice!!

Hi, I've been on step 2 for two weeks lost 10lbs first week but gained 1lb second week from apparently not having all my packs and not drinking enough water :-( was in hospital with my nana most of the week so I basically starved myself but somehow gained weight. Anyway I'm thinking of sole sourcing from tomorrow. My bmi has gone from 46 to 43 already, and I feel great. Do you think it would be okay to sole source? Not sure if it's safe. Has anyone else sole sourced with a bmi over 40?
Thanks in advance xx

hey,

I would advice to stick to cambridge rules. Don't do sole source till your BMI is lower.

The steps are designed to that the body doesn't go into starvation mode and start hoarding food. As well as making sure we are getting everything we need :)

It is all about balance, Its really almost impossible sometimes to keep it up. Life gets in the way. When I was in hospital with my mum it was a nightmare. I don't like the pre made packs. But I ended up making a chicken salad and taking it with me.

I have been in hospital my self this last week. Its really hard to keep the weight going the right way and cope with life.
Water is the key as well, it really does aid weight loss. Your gain could literally be a mix of faminemode and water retention. because the packs contain 1/3 of our Daily recommended vitamins, they do stop the body hoarding bad stuff, and keep the metabolic rate going.

To go on to sole source there are risks, tells you in the book. The biggest one I found was light headedness, fainting because its low calorie. I would stick with step two. I know its only a meal on top of step one. But your weight will go down if you can stick with it. And you wanna do it healthy and do it right. :)

Excuse the mistakes, my laptop is over heating, it wont let me go back and fix mistakes grr lol. Good Luck. I hope you have less stress :( I do think it makes it so much harder to stick with it. Just carry a wee bottle of water with you that you can refill. And chin up :) you can do this :)

I have lost 3 stone, and even though I'm Ill I'm maintaining :)

Thank you, I've actually found it surprisingly easy, no side effects so far on step 2 and although I didn't eat properly I did 7 straight days with 30 minutes of cardio so I was really disappointed that I had gained. I have some extra packs so I might try ss but have a fourth pack if I need it, well done for maintaining and I hope you feel better soon :) x
