Hello

I've just started slimming world and I'm having a few issues, I'm sticking to extra easy as I like the freedom but I really really dislike all vegetables and salad so I'm struggling a bit. All the advice in the books tell me to fill a third of my plate with veg/salad but I can't. Will slimming world work for me if I can't do this?

Not really no. The superfree is meant to fill you up so that you don't eat loads of the other stuff. Pasta, rice, potatoes etc are fine but less healthy and more calories than vegetables. Without meaning to sound harsh, I'm not sure any diet will be a healthy, balanced one without vegetables. Without them you'll miss out on lots of vitamins and minerals. I would suggest trying different vegetables and cooking them in different ways. What about if you mix them into your meals?

You might still lose weight, it depends on a lot of factors such as what your portion control is like, what you eat the rest of the time and whether you exercise. Unfortunately nobody can predict this so you would just need to try and see what happens.

But as already said, fruit and veg are an essential part of a healthy balanced diet so its important to try and overcome your aversion. Soups and sauces are an easy way to get the superfree in. You can hide veggies in lots of dishes by blending or grating them too. Add very fine cut veggies to curries, pasata, chilli and loads of other dishes and you won't even realise its there trust me :)
