Help, i've just started ts, i work full time nights, any suggestions when is the best time to eat?? Any ideas would be great thanks x:)
 
not having ever worked nights im unsure really but if i were you i would perhaps have a pack before you leave, take your last pack of the day with you and drink lots of water an black coffee, hat way you wont be going to work hungry and when you have your break you can have something to eat and drink as normal. i would treat eat three packs as you would the usual 3 meals a day you would have. once you have been doing it a week or so you will find yourself getting into a rountine and you will know whens the best time for you. good luck.
 
Just eat them when you feel hungry.. there is no set times for having your shakes, so just do what suits you.
 
Yeah just eat your packs when you would normally feel hungry and have your meals. It doesn't make any difference to the diet what time you eat as long as you get the 3 packs per day.
 
Hi hun, I work a lot of nights too. Some think I'm mad but I bag up my packs into days of the week, that way I know where I am when I'm on nights.
What time are your shifts? I work 8.30 to 7
The day before I'm working is the hardest. I stick it out as long as I can before having my first shake, have my second shake in work between about 10 and midnight and my third in the witching hour between 3 and 5.
I sometimes need my third shake earlier so I would have the first shake of the next day either before I start my round in the morning or before I go to bed.

I hope this has been useful but it will be trial and error for a while. I would also suggest starting on your days off so you are in ketosis before your first night shift xx
 
hiya , I work nights too , although only 2 a week but I guess i can tell you what I do ... on the day of my first night ( I dont get to sleep before my 1st one ) I wait till 5pm to have my first pack , then have another at 7pm and then my last one at 2-3am ish ( when I get my break ) then if I am working the next night too I go straight to bed when I get home , get up about 5-6 pm and have a pack , then another at 7pm and another at work on my break .......... sometimes on my first night I find I need to have an extra pack ( it really wont harm ketosis or your losses ) hope this helps a little , its hard but I am sure you will work it out xx

Thanks for your help, i work 8-8 nights, i have a four year old little boy-i only get sbout 4 hours sleep a day so im awakeawost of the day to think about food, im on day 6 and its much easier xx

I, too, work pretty much permanent nights. Just try to switch your day around .... the first night is the most difficult ... if I have had all 3 packs by midnight, I allow myself an additional pack in the wee small hours (I figure it's the next day). After the first night, I get up have a pack before work, a pack at work and one in the morning before I go to bed. Does this make sense?? (only up and about to start night 6 of 7 :D)

I work 1930 - 07.30, by the way.

I work nights too. 4 on, 4 off pattern. 20:00-08:00....I usually have my bar with a cuppa at about 22:00 and my shakes at , 02:00 and 06:00...I find the later into the morning I get, the less hungry I feel.
I also bring my tub of bouillon with me as well as tea, coffee and sweetners. Sometimes I keep a bit of shredded chicken breast to hand to add to my bouillon if I feel the need for something a little substantial.

On my last night coming into the morning I finish, I would have my bar and 1st shake at the usual time. Then have my final shake about 7am...I find this sets me up for the day. I would usually got home and nap until about 11am, then I would have another shake at about 2pm, another at 6pm and another about 10pm...Then head to bed abour 23:30 :)

See what works best for you though - it took me a while!
 
When I was doing TS last year, I would have the packs at about 0800, 1300 and 1700 on the day of the first night. I wouldn't have any through the night, but I would keep a bar in my bag just in case I felt shaky (figuring that one extra pack wouldn't kill me!). Just knowing it was there usually meant that I could resist.

I would then have the bar around 0800 and sleep all day, have a second pack about 1700 and the next one at around 2200 and the same the next day.

I found it easier on nights tbh. x
