Not losing weight

Hi everyone,

I'm lost :( I have been on the plan now for nearly 3 weeks and my weight is more or less the same as when I started. I am despairing and don't know where I'm going wrong. I struggled in the first week getting my head round the plan so I have been following it properly for nearly 2 weeks. I am eating lots of super free (mainly in superspeed soups). I'm doing green days so using the extra healthy extras. I checked the scales yesterday morning and was down 1lb then checked again today and I'm back at my start weight of 3 weeks ago AGAIN. I'm trying to keep good diaries - if anybody could take a look and give me any tips it would be so appreciated. I love the plan, I feel healthier and I feel generally better but just no weight loss and it's getting me down :( Thanks x

Are you at group? Are you following green because you're vegetarian?

I don't follow green, I do EE but you seem to be relying on soup a lot and it doesn't look like you're eating enough to be honest. You could be eating a whole lot more including some fruit and low fat yogurts rather than sweets.

I would suggest speaking to a consultant if you are at group or look at the diaries section here and follow someone else who does green and see what they eat.

Hope that helps :)

I haven't done green days so I don't know much about the dos and fonts beyond I know you can have 2 of both HEX and limited meats....am I right?

Looking at your diaries, maybe it's just me and of course portion size plays a part, but there doesn't seem to be much SUBSTANCE if you know what I mean. Lots of soup and rice and veg. Could you introduce something with some fats in, nuts for example or syn in an avocado. If your body is used to getting certain things and you suddenly take them away it can resist. I am guilty of being uber good, too good in fact and I STS for three whole weeks. I also can't eat a lot
of pasta or grains without it showing (hence staying away from green). Are you vegetarian or could you try extra easy for a change? Or original days?

It can also depend upon how you were eating in the run up to starting SW. If you ate unhealthily your body may resist initially as it hangs on to what it knows. If you were eating well anyway there may not be enough of a change for a big initial loss and it may ease into it.

Doesn't look like much food to me hunny!

That's what's standing out to me.. I am not a big eater but I try hard to increase it and find I loose better when I eat plenty! !

So you put rice & carrots for tea

Example of extra
Marinated quorn
Sautéed peppers onion and shredded carrot
Rice
Olives

Soup & rice?
Soup with rice in served with fruit, yoghurt & ryvita with hex a

I just noticed you were doing exante before? That's VCLD so if you were doing that right up to changing to SW then there is no surprise at all that it takes time to start working. You are probably eating far more now than before and it will take time for your body to catch up to the additional nutrients and calories.

Thank you for all the comments :) I was doing exante but my will power went so had got into a terrible way of eating which involved a lot of bingeing then trying to stick to the 600kcal a day :( (I presume this is why I'm *feeling* better for eating properly consistently).
I'm trying green as I'm not that fussed about meat and like the double healthy extras I'm allowed. I will definitely try some more substance that's a good idea. I'll go and check out some diaries too. I am eating tonnes of food to be honest but maybe I just need to bulk it all out a bit.
Thanks everyone for the tips xx

Yes by the sounds of it your body didn't know whether it was coming or going with the binge starve cycle you were in. It now finds itself with a steady supply of good food and an improved number of calories it needs to function properly and it's hanging onto everything for dear life in case you restrict it again. It seems weird talking about your body as its own sentient being but we retain a lot of a biochemical responses from cave hunting days when we would eat when good was plentiful to stock up for leaner times. Your body is preserving you. Persevere, bulk it up and mix it up and you will start to see results!

I agree with all the ladies here, please dont despair just yet, i did exante and it really messed my body up! I tried weightwatchers last year after exante and after a month i had put ON weight. VLCD really is a shock to system and aren't very good for you.. i am now steadily losing finally.

I would also agree with more substance, soup is good but you must make sure you are getting a good balance. Add some more free foods, like quorn or more veg. Dont try and skimp on your syns to lose more, they are there for a reason. I think for people that have less weight to lose they recommend up to 10? For me, I have about 8 stone to lose altogether so im sticking to 15 - and generally (unless im keeping it down due to a syn heavy day) i stick to the 15.

Good luck, im sure it will start to come off soon!
