Oatbran question ...

Ok now I know the rules regarding tablespoon amounts for each phase, I have also read about having a tablespoon extra if suffering constipation.

what I would like to know is based on the following...

I have porridge every morning with half my bran allowances, and the rest is taken up with either Muffins or Bread. I usually manage the amounts really well and stick to my 2 Oat and 1 Wheat every day.

Yesterday I made some bread with a different recipe and the portions worked out to 2tbsp of oatbran...it all got cut wrong, I have an idea on how to change the cutting but it will still workout to 1.5tbsp per portion.

Now this is my question. Is it ok to have that extra bit (half spoon) of oatbran, it will probably work out to 2-3 times a week. I really do like to have my porridge every day but on PV days the bread will go great with my salads and help fill me up. its not going to be every day.

I know the brans help with the cholestrol and transit issues, but is half a tablespoon 2-3 times a week really going to stop me losing weight. I promise its not going to happen every day LOL.

Those of you that have the muffins every day, does it work out to 2tbsp.

Half asleep as I type this, honest opinion: as you've made it this way - better to use it up and eat it, see how your losses are at the end of the week, if you're happy with the amount you lost then you could make the decision as to whether you want to continue with the extra oatbran, having a high BMI the diet would still (in theory) be low enough in calories and carbs to cause losses but you might not see the same losses as if you stuck to the plan rigidly.

basically if having porridge and muffins per day is a dealbreaker I would think at this BMI it'd be better to continue as you are and stick to the diet than to revert to the rules and fall off the wagon

however if you want bigger losses AND can stick to a diet with less oatbran in, that would be first choice x
 
thanks guys. It will probably only work out to half a tblspn every other day. I have stuck to the diet quite rigidly apart from teh sauce on Saturday LOL, and my dairy is only half what we are allowed so I am going to go for it. If in the week I stall, I'll go back to the old recipe for the bread....this one is just soooo yummy though LOL.
