Day 1: :sign0144:

Dont know what to put really... just that I have spent too many years of my life trying to lose weight. Actually I have been really successful in the past then always put it all back on.
Out of all the diets I have done in the past Slimming World has been my favourite, what I didnt like about it was that my consultant used to encourage us to eat loads and then when I went to Weight Watchers I couldnt believe how much I was eating on Slimming World and how greedy it made me.
I read a great thread on here which broke down the key principles of slimming world and portion control was mentioned in there, as well as the 1/3 - 2/3 method of extra easy oh and also replacing Hex's for things I thought were similar so I could identify where I was going wrong and why the weight loss had come to a stand still whilst I was doing it.
Also, I now strongly believe it cannot be a diet anymore - it has to be lifestyle change which I can sustain.
I have been going to the gym / classes 3/4 times per week but the exercise alone has not been enough to shift the lbs (although I have deffinately toned up) :)

So I am not going to join a slimming world class again, i am going to do it alone and hopefully find support along the way by maintaining a diary on here.

I am feeling really positive about this!

Good luck. I look forward to reading your journey. How much have you to lose? Are you doing ee? X

Hi, thanks for the welcome :)

Yes I am doing EE I have never really got my head around it before but think it is because of the reasons mentioned above.

Ive got approx 6 1/2 stone to lose - its going to take forever :(

How are you getting on with EE?

How frustrating. I typed a long reply and ran out of signal so it didn't post. It might seem like it will take forever but the time will fly by and at least with the freedom and flexibility of sw you'll be able to enjoy the journey :) you'll be looking back soon a good chunk of the way not believing how easy it's been.

I love ee. I think it fits with life so great and the best thing is that there's a sw version of pretty much anything you could possibly want. We had a lovely free chicken curry last night.

I followed it a few years back and lost nearly two stone before I failed. And it really was a case of me failing not the plan I'm just back to it after a stretch on Cambridge. Gained stupidly last week but that was more down to water retention a very full cheat day and I mean shovelling everything in and of course the change in food. I've been 100% this week though and now everything has settled it's only down from here. WI tomorrow x

Well done with cambridge :) - I did consider doing it but I had a fear that I would put the weight back on as soon as I went back to real food. What are your experiences of it? Have you managed to keep it off?

Well day two now completed and successfully - funny enough I havent felt hungry and I have enjoyed what I have eaten.

I know it sounds silly but I am paranoid that I am not going to lose weight - think its because I have been unsuccessful so many times lately. Anyway I have stuck to it so no reason why i shouldnt.

Cant wait for first weigh in on sunday lol!

Well it's not been long. I found cd good, learned a lot about myself and my eating habits. Can't say much about keeping it off as I've not been off long. I did ok whilst working up the plans and calorie continuing for the few weeks I did it but cc drove me demented. I moved to sw a few weeks ago and gained weight straight away due to the change in foods, amounts, retaining water etc. had a massive blow out and at the end of that week I'd gained 12lbs lol. So I took that as my start pint as my body would have been fully adjusted and last week, at the end of week one I lost 5.25lbs :) the only way is down from here f

I think we're all paranoid that we won't lose weight, but we will, if you've stuck to plan you will definitely lose weight. Go with it and enjoy the plan x

Well I know I shouldnt have but I had a sneaky peek on the scales this morning and and I had lost 4lbs :)

I am not going to update my tracker until my official weigh in which is Sunday morning!

I have actually been exercising intensively for 6 weeks now but the lbs have not been shifting but 3 people have complemented me this week saying I look like i have lost weight/more toned and that I have a healthy glow about me! So its been a good week :)

Now I have my head around what I need to be eating combined with the exercise I am hoping to get some good results in the coming weeks.

I know I will be no where near my target for my 30th Birthday but 1 - 2 stone off is definately achievable by May if I stick at it.

Im feeling really positive... I wish I could bottle this feeling up for when we have those bad days lol!

Excellent. Its great when people start noticing, a real ego boost :) you will dev do two stone and be looking fab with all that exercise!!!

Now if we could bottle it up and sell it we'd be millionaires lol x

Well I have decided to make my offical weigh in on a Saturday morning so it is offically a 4lb loss this week. I had a KFC yesterday which I regret having but thats the badness out of the way now and ready to start another good week!

Well done on your loss and good luck for this week :) xxx

*Sigh* I am really fed up! :(
I dont know why I have an inability to stick to a diet!! I havent been weighed for a couple of weeks and although I havent stuck to a diet I dont think I have put loads of weight on!
So decision made... I am joining a Slimming World class on Friday! I have been trying to do it alone but i think I need more structure... I am going to join group then set up a food diary and track in there and hopefully people can start giving me some hints and tips if I am eating the wrong things.

Ok so I have not updated this for a while but I guess that's because I've been pleased with my progress over the last 2 weeks - however I fell into that trap where a couple of good weeks and now I had a treat at the weekend - chocolate Philly on digestives - yum yum! Anyway then I had a bad day today... Had buffet food at work then out for a meal tonight (with wine) I hope that being back 100% on plan until weigh in Saturday morning will be enough for a loss I had set myself a target of a 3lb loss this week but that will never happen now! I know only I can do this and maybe no one will reply but I guess I am just giving myself a talking to as this is normally where I fail eg couple of good weeks so I have a treat then it all goes wrong, I then just think I've blown it so don't carry on! Anyone else experience the same sort of thing? I know I just have to get back on it for the rest of the week!! God this is a tough journey and I'm still at the start!!!!
