Day one on the SS and not feeling so good. I have never done this diet before but tried every other one. The reviews on this diet have been really good, I just read the positive ones lol. I have had Maple and Pecan porridge and found it hard to swallow, I hope I aquire a taste! I liked the Chocolate milk shake for lunch but the vegetable soup for dinner was not awfully good. Ah well, no one said it was going to be easy. I am 21st 6lbs so I need this to work. Do you get used to the artificial taste of the food?

Hey =) I am so so fussy when it comes to food i hate porrige in general so never bothered to try them and only like proper home made soups so not a fan of them i am living off the tetra's and the bars now it seems boring but its working for me but the first day i started the tetra it was vile i thought i cant eat this and then each day they tasted better and now i find them sooooo sweet and yummy =) So i would say you will get used to the taste and you will find the products you like best.. best of luck.

Welcome Lizziss,

The first few days are hard but once you get past that you will be fine. I am on day 11 now and don't feel hungry. Yes, I have the odd craving for my old favorites, but my attitude to food is definitely changing.

As for the flavours, you will soon find out which you like and don't like. Personally I much prefer the original porridge to the maple and pecan. I find the veg soup a bit tasteless and much prefer the spicy tomato and oriental chilli as they have a bit of a kick to them. Leek and potato is nice too. Tried most of the shakes except toffee and forest fruits and like them all. Got 2 bars to try this week, which I am saving for the weekend :D

Hang in there and it will get easier!

Congrats on starting CD! You'll find these diaries and posts really help answer your questions and keep you motivated to keep going. I hated some of the flavours my first week, but tried them again just in case this week and.... they're not too bad. On a tip from one of the posts I put a dash of cinnamon into the plain porridge which made it taste much better. There's only 1 shake flavour I really don't like, so that leaves a pretty wide variety to choose from. And I don't like the soups but find them tolerable and I like having a "warm" meal from time to time.

Go through the diaries and you'll find some great tips like the cinnamon one - ie warming up the choc mint shake makes a lovely hot choc drink and putting loads of crushed ice cubes into the shake makes it lovely, thick and like a real shake! :p

The first few days are the toughest - you will lose quite a lot of weight rapidly (this is mainly water) and feel a bit hungry, but as you go into ketosis, you will not feel as hungry and have more energy. You can do this diet! :)

Get one of everything to try, surprisingly I like most products I wouldn't normally like the flavour of so you could be surprised!
It gets easier once you find the products you like and you will even look forward to them!
