preparing for maintenance

Ok, so I am about 1 stone from target (hopefully less at next weigh in). I know that in those first few days you lose more because of glycogen and water. So when you go on to maintenance do you regain that? (I intend to eat carbs, mainly fruit, and low GI carbs, but still carbs) and so should I adjust my target to take in to account the gain?

I think they say to prepare for an average 5lb gain when you add "normal" food, depending on how you plan to maintain there is a chance to lose it again though

It depends on the person I think. If you think you will be discouraged by reaching goal only to find you might have put back on 5-6Ibs maybe more then you might want to think about going a little lower than goal to account for it. I know that I will be going at least half a stone under my goal because even though I know rationally it will just be water I know that I will find it demoralising.

On the slim and save website it says "if your actual weight is important (IE you want to weight 10st) then we recommend that you diet to around 4 to 5lb lighter than you want to be to allow for the increase once you stop the programme."

Thanks for that. I am like that, I don't want to get disheartened by gaining a bit of weight then thinking 'to hell with it' and pigging out. So I will change my goal!
