Hi I'm mel and new to this forum, myself like many have done every diet under the sun and also other vlcd, I did LL lost 4 stone but have put 2 back on, I want to try Slim and Save as its cheaper but does anyone know if it is safe? I can't be monitored as my gp does not agree with diets but wanted to know if there was anyone else doing this with no supervision and how do they feel, Ive just finished another binge and a weekend full of alcohol and am fed up and want to get started, any advice would be great.

Slim & safe is perfectly safe, as long as you follow it correctly. If it wasn't safe, they wouldn't be allowed to sell it :)
Why don't you pop over to the S&S subforum, as there are loads of us on there. When you say 'no supervision' what do you actually mean? As no one who does S&S have a counsellor if that's what you mean :) good luck, it's the best diet I've ever done-I've lost 3 stone 6 in 10 weeks x

I've not had any problems at all. If you've done a VLCD before then you'll know how hard the first 3/4 days can be, but then it's a breeze :)

I combine SnS and LL... The SnS packs are lovely - especially the meal packs. You can still go to a pharmacy and have your blood pressure taken every 4 weeks if you're worried about that.

S&S is every bit as safe as any other VLCD

Hi are u a member of LL? Or do u just have packs left, do u feel the need to be checked over as in bp.

I'm a member of LL. I used to like being checked because my diabetic nurse did it and it gave us a chance to catch up and see how my diabetes was doing. I spent 6 months on total and the last 4 months on lite. Health checks are not needed on lite. I have now moved to management so no health checks needed now either. To be honest the health checks were only ever BP checks anyway - and you can get that for free at a pharmacy if you want to irrespective of whether you're on a vlcd or not.

For most packs I prefer SnS but I stayed with LL too as I value the counselling and the slow refeed.

I think how you feel will be the biggest measure for you...if you feel fab then you know you are doing it right. If you want a number to write down then most doctor surgeries gave a nurse present who can take your blood pressure and reassure you that you are healthy or otherwise.

Why don't you throw caution to the wind and jump in, losing weight is healthier than staying obese or overweight.
