I make mine like soup! Put about 400mls water in it, let it rest for ages then heat in microwave. Sometimes mix chilli flakes or fresh basil though it. Yummmmy!!!!
I've tried black pepper but apart from the wee bit of heat still all I could taste was salt. Will try the chives and failing that pasta soup! Thanks everyone for your advice.
I just made the carbonara with cayenne pepper, paprika and 150mls boiling water, stood for 5 mins, microwave 1 min, stir, microwave 1 min, stir, microwave 30 secs, stand for 10 mins. much much nicer and not soupy!
