How does the shoutbox thing work? It's like a chat room, right? But I couldn't see how to type something in. Is there a separate link for it, or is it just the scroll box on the forum page?

When you have 50 posts you will see a box to post your message in.

We had to implement this restriction to stop spam.

Similarly, I cannot update my profile on the iPhone.

I believe I've had 20+ posts but again via the iPhone I have no obvious way of seeing it.

However as I said, on the iPhone I can't do anything with an avatar and can't access anything to help me do it

Is this something that has to be done from a pc?

Colmarnock, it's a mobile Safari thing. You have to either upload your photo/s to photobucket or flickr or similar, and then port over via hyperlink rather than direct upload. Or direct upload later via pc or mac.

Or Minimins needs to install a tapatouch mod so iphone users can use the tapatouch app.

Afaik neither vB nor Apple have any workarounds planned.

I logged onto the pc and uploaded from there.

It's a very restrictive app once you see the web version.
