Slow Cookers

Hello

I'm thinking of investing in a slow cooker... I usually cook just for one, and I don't have a lot of space so a gadget is quite a big decision ..!

What kinda size would anyone suggest? I see 3.5, 4.5 and 6 litre ones kicking about but I have nooooo idea how much this is in terms of food. Ideally looking for something suitable for 2-4 portions of stew, for example...

I've had cheap ones,but this time I spent £44 on the black crock pot from curries, you can use it on the hob to brown stuff first,then transfer to crockpot base. I have to say,things taste a lot better in this,than the two cheap ones I've had over then ten years x

I have a 1 litre one which does just about 2 portions of whatever it is, then bought a 3.3l one from Tesco which is ace! Can fit a whole chicken in it, and would easy do 4 portions I say, and quite a bargain.
