Smash cake

120 grams smash, 5 whole eggs, 8 dessertspoons sweetner and 1 teaspoon baking powder and two vanilla mullerlites and half teaspoon vanilla extract...in the oven for an hour on 3/4.

Is this syn free.Does it taste nice?
It tastes nice, quite a dense texture similar to a baked cheese cake. It's half a syn for the whole cake. Have you tried the half syn cake?
 
I was told as long as you don't eat loads of it all the time you could count it as such, if you were to eat a full cake every day syn it as such but if you're having one slice once in a blue moon I don't see the harm. I beg to differ about how potatoes should be used, there are very traditional recipes, 100's of years old using mashed potato eg cakes and pastry and since smash is a dried version of this how is this using it wrong? Surely that is a modern view brought about by the lack of home cooking using traditional recipes. And yes I'm passionate about cooking trying traditional lost recipes and experimenting with new ones.
 
0.5 SYN FOR THE WHOLE CAKE. 1 TUB QUARK, 4 EGGS, 1 TSP BAKING POWDER, 4 TBSP SWEETNER,VANILLA ESSENCE (OR ANY), FRESH FRUIT. SEPERATE THE EGGS. USING A SWISS ROLL TIN SPRAY WITH FRY LIGHT ( I PUT GREASPROOF PAPER IN FIRST THE SPRAY SO DOESNT STICK) POUR THE MIXTURE IN AND BAKE AT 180 FOR 15 - 20 MINUTES. LEAVE TO COOL IN A DISH ADD REMAINING QUARK ,SWEETNER, AND ESSENCE AND MIX TOGETHER. REMOVE THE CAKE FROM TIN WHEN COOL SPREAD THE QUARK EVENLY, ADD FINELY CHOPPED FRUIT (STRAWBERRY AND BANANA MY FAVE). ROLL THE CAKE FROM ONE END. SLICE TO SERVE. THE WHOLE CAKE IS ONLY HALF A SYN AND THATS THE BAKING POWDER. CAN ALSO ADD CHOC OPTIONS SACHET FOR FLAVOURING. I tried this yesterday.OMG.It was delish.Even my hubby loved it.Needless to say there's non left for today.Thank you so much for the reciepe.It's going to be a regular in my house from now on :)

yes, it deflates when it comes out of the oven. I do mine in 2 round cake tins and put filling in the middle like a sponge cake. This is my choc/orange one.

just tried some and its gorgeous! i want more! lol.mine was a 2 1/2 syn cake as i added a white choc options to the quark

The one in the picture was 4.5 syns as this one had choc/orange options in both the cake & the quark filling, was well worth the extra syns :)
 
I made one using half the ingredients, my C said it'll be 13 syns for the whole cake as your using the smash as a substitute for flour, so this cake (made with the ingredients suggested) would be about 26 syns for the whole cake :)
