How on earth do you guys get yourselves out of a rut? My weight is REALLY getting on my nerves and when I lose I feel good for about 5 minutes and then think about how much more I have to go. It just never seems good enough? It's not like I haven't been sticking to plan, I have and I know (rationally) that any loss is great but I just feel like my life is run by food at the minute, constantly thinking about what I can have next or trying to stop thinking about having certain things.

Does anyone else feel like this? How do you overcome it?

Edit: and I've just realised that this probably should have been in off topic ahh!

Sorted :)

Revisit your goals, revisit your books, reinvent the plan you follow so that you can get enthused about it again. You need a fresh perspective on things. It is easy to get obsessed with thinking about food, but do it positively, look for great recipes to try, experiment, enjoy what you eat so that you dont feel deprived.

Hope that helps a little bit!

I'm sure most of us would agree with you, andI often feel that food is ruling my life, & at times, do feel obsessive, but I try to think of other food related things like the lovely SW food I can eat. I also think about the positive changes I've made & will continue with and I remind myself why I'm going to continue with SW for life.

Looking at your stats you have lost nearly 3stone in less than 4months...thats fantastic Well Done! and you are really trying to get to a target for your hols so are probably putting loads of pressure on yourself!?
I'd say you need to be nice to yourself, take a breath and then as suggested read through your books to jog your memory/ read your diary if you have one to remind yourself why you started it and see how you have got through these patches before, read other peoples diaries for their tips/inspiration.

I'd suggest sucess express to give you a shake up/boost other than that try and relax about it all and dare I say it will happen if you continue to stick to plan but maybe not at the date you have in mind? :hide:

Thanks for all the words of advice, I'm going to have to sit down with my books etc and have a real read through them again.

I honestly don't even think that it's holiday thats worrying me as I'm 2lb away from the holiday target and I know I won't be happy with how I look by then, realistically 2lb on or off won't change my appearance. I'm just so damn impatient about wanting to look nice, I don't know how I coped 3 stone heavier. I just wish I could see the big change that others say they can, 3 dif people told me id lost a 'load' of weight today, I just felt awkward and then came home and cried like a loon because it's just not 'good enough' and picked at the way each of them phrased their comment until it ended up as a blooming insult almost! Ugh!

To anyone reading this please don't admit me to a psych ward lol! Anyways I feel a bit better after that rant and again thank you lovelies for your advice :)

You've done awesomely well, don't put yourself under unnecessary pressure - see the positives :)
