Howdy!

I'm only new to Minimins - hi!

I'm going back to Weight Watchers this week - for about the 5th time but this time I am really determind to make it work. I started for the 1st time in March 2012 and lost about 1st 4lbs in the space of 9 months and I've managed to keep majority of that weight off. However, I still have about 3st 7lbs to go. I'm going on holidays on the 4th September and would really like to have lost another 21lbs by then.

Does anyone have any tips on how to stay on track for the first week? I always find the first week the hardest!

Thanks :)

Welcome back :)

I always find it easiest not to buy the foods I tend to snack on more like biscuits. If I don't have them I can't eat them!

Welcome Sweetie :) I suggest regular visits to Minimins, it's really helped me! X

Thanks! Yes, snacks are a big problem of mine. Any good snacks you can suggest? Thanks again :)

I will follow immediately! :) I have more of a sweet tooth but I like savoury as well. When I am being super good, I would snack on 3 Ryvita with a small pot of Philidephia Light and loads of fruit but I feel like I'm stuck in a bit of rut with meals and snacks to be honest!

Thanks for your help :)

Sweet....I would recommend Chocolate Orange Segment for 1pp, Small Milkybars or Time Outs for 2pp, Kit Kat 2 Fingers, Freddo, Curly Wurly or Club for 3pp. Chocolate isn't too bad as long as you limit your portion control. I also made some Fat-Free Strawberry Jam Butterfly Cakes last week, those only worked out at 2pp each! X

My favourite sweet snacks include the WW cookies (usually found in Poundland) for 2pp each.
Various flavours - Lemon & Currant, Cinnamon & Sultana, Ginger & Lemon, Toffee, Mixed Berries and Apple & Cinnamon.

I also like the WW cake slices for 2pp.

Mini Jammie Dodgers are 2pp for a pack of 4.
Mini Party Rings are 3pp a pack.

I also like Weetabix Oaty Bars, just 1pp per bar.
WW Caramel or Raspberry Mallows (bit like Pink & Whites) just 1pp each. These also taste good heated up in the microwave for 10 seconds.
The marshmallow goes all soft and squidgey.

I usually finish my day off with some ice cream.
WW do a variety of desserts ranging from 2pp for little ice cream tubs, to 5pp for toffee cheesecake and hot fruit crumbles.

I like to split my points up through the day.
I usually have 3pp for breakfast (2 weetabix made with hot water and sweetener)
Then around 10 points for lunch (usually a sandwich and some snacks/fruit when I'm at work)
And between 6 and 10 points for dinner (I like the ww meals, so usually have one of those, but some supermarkets do their own brand ready meals and they're reasonable on points too).
Then I use the remaining points on snacking in the evening after dinner, before bed.

Good luck with your weight loss.
And questions, feel free to ask, we'll try our best to help =D

Emma is a WW Guru, I never knew the Weetabix Oaty Bars are only 1pp, that's a bargain! PS-I split my day up into Milk-1, Breakfast-6, Lunch-5, Dinner-10 and Snacks 4. X

Awww, thanks Serena.
Yeah, just 1pp each.
However I don't know if they're a 2 for 3pp case.
I've not had 2 in one day (as far as I recall), so haven't really bothered looking into it. Will do it tonight though.

I often buy them when they're on offer in the supermarkets for £1.

Noooo.. don't tell me that.
How have I managed to mess up like that?!
I've been counting them as 1pp since 15th April!
So every day that I've had one I've been a whole point over?!?!
I have the toffee and the strawberry ones.
Just looked at their website (cuz I've thrown the boxes away) and they're bar calories is 2pp =/
NOOOOOOO!!!!
That can't have happened.
I have no idea how I managed that because I'm sure I'd've checked it a couple of times.
Oh.
Ah well, don't care, still counting them as 1pp.
They've worked for me as 1pp so far, so I'm sticking to it, because it's always been a handy little filling snack.

But they are in fact 2pp.
:sigh::cry:

OMG I'm so sorry Emma, I didn't mean to be the WW Snitch! I just thought there was a different flavour which was 1pp, I feel terrible now! PS-Your losses have been far better than mine so maybe I should be more relaxed with my calculations! X

Ahh... I aint gonna worry too much.
It'll just be classed in my activities/weeklies.
Although technically I could be entitled to an extra 2pp a day because I put myself as 4pp moderate activity when I could probably get away with 6pp high activity.

I wonder how many A/P I would get on my 4.6km School Walk? X

Depends how long it takes you to walk it and how quickly you walk.
You've got the Move More, Sit Less book, I'm sure there's a grid in there, check it out?!

Really think you should've bought the Deluxe Starter Kit with the pedometer in it.
Maybe every time you get a bargain, put away all (or some) of the money you saved into a jar and you'll soon have enough money to treat yourself to a pedometer.
Or look on ebay?!
I absolutely love mine!

I'm gutted now that I didn't get the Deluxe Starter Kit :-( At the time I was driving the School Run and hardly doing any walking so I guess I didn't think I would use it but fast forward to Week 4 and I could really use it! I'm watching one on eBay but they always seem to go for far too much money, maybe I will get lucky soon though! X
