starting slim and save advice

Hi All I am Crystel.
Been looking into re start a VLCD I did L/L afew years back with great results.
But i have regained the weight in the last few years, due too medication family losses and just losig track of my eating:(
I have looked into all the main VLCD, and slim and save has jumped out at me,
I have ordered some samples too try this week, just wanted some hints and tips, i,m abit confused as heard talk of adding protein and you can
have milk and veg, is this right?
Are there any nasty packs and nice ones of course?

Hey there

You are right, if you want to have 3 packs a day you can then have 100g of protein meal (so chicken/tuna/eggs etc..) and a multivitamin, with also 200g of veg and 150ml of milk to either have in tea, in a shake or on its own. If you want to have 4 packs a day, you can still have the 200g of veg and 150ml of milk.

What is great about this diet is that one day you can do 4 packs, and the next you can do 3 packs + meal. You will have the same amount of loss on the 3 packs as you will on the 4 packs.

I only have the shakes and bars, but thats because I'm fussy :p The shakes I find nice are vanilla/vanilla & caramel/cookies and cream/toffee/chocolate & banana but some people won't like them, so thats down to personal choice.

When you receive your order you will get a sheet with all the info on it . U can add a certain amount of lean protein and beef if your are on the 3 packs, I'm not siure about on other plans . I have only tried bars and shakes but so far have liked them all, youll need to get the level of water right for your though as what they recommend doesn't appeal in all packs. The bars are nice but I'd recommend coping them into pieces too last longer as they are tiny and seem to be gone in one our your eat them normally! I'm on day 2 of my final restart if you want some buddy support from someone also on early days!

As i know the first few days are really tough on a VLCD. get it right i,m like you quite fussy and when i was on LL i mainly had the shakes too can you heat them up on sns?
How are you all doing on sns so far?
 
Yes, you can heat the shakes up although I tend to make them with hot water personally when I want a hot one. A vanilla or caramel one with coffee is fab. Like a flavoured latte (well almost ;))
 
i know you can heat up the shakes on s&s but ive not done it so couldnt advise on that! im only on day 2 but am in ketosis already - which i cant quite believe - it kicked in in 24 hours :-O love it!
you should read katiebaby's diary on here , shes done amazingly well and is soooo inspirational. i have a diary too so dive on if if you fancy a nosey at my slimming attempts!

oooh i need to try a "caramel latte" i looooove the caramel one - defo my favourite so far :)
 
Whilst people can tell u their likes and dislikes, it's best to try them for yourself as what one person loves, another will hate :)

Don't put too much coffee in with the caramel one as I find it tends to overpower the flavour otherwise. The vanilla one tend to have a stronger flavour so the coffee doesn't overpower it so much.
 
The only thing I find is, when it comes to day 3 or 5, I get a massive headache and I'm feeling starving all day, like today :p I know it will pass soon but ugh its horrid on the day lol

Thanks for all the great tips i,ll definitely try the coffee tip use too do that with my LL shakes too hot and cold. so thanks Bordersgirl.
