Starting tomorrow

Hello lovely ladies,

I've been doing alot of research on this and have also been reading through this forum. You are all doing so well :)

I successfully lost 21lbs by calorie counting and exercise, but unfortunately I have gained 10lbs due to medication given to my by my doctor as I've recently been diagnosed with bipolar. I've been really struggling at the minute as the medication makes me eat a horse on some days and I really need to control this.

This diet sounds wonderful to me as I will be able to indulge every other day. I'm having an up day today and will have my first down day tomorrow. I have bought some soup for my down days as I'm a rubbish cook.

My question to you all is I like to exercise and I'm currently following the New Rules of Weight Lifting for Women program and Couch to 5K, I'm going to do this exercise on my up days. For my down days I would still like to exercise and was wondering how you all find your energy levels on a down day?

Thank you xx

Hi & welcome to this great group & brilliant lifestyle plan. I don't like to call it a diet. I'm not into hard exercise, I only walk & swim but I've read plenty of peoples diaries on here & I gather a lot do exercise on down days but they don't go mad. It will really depend on how your body reacts to the calorie restriction, I guess you will have to try it & see. Your body will tell you pretty quickly if you can't! I can certainly garden hard on a DD which expends a lot of energy and I feel OK. Anyway good luck with your first DD. I'm DD today:)

Good luck for your first DD tomorrow. I started JUDDD today and have just completed my first DD. I love to exercise which is one of the reasons i wanted to swap from Slim and Save to JUDDD because exercising every day on Slim and Save was really affecting my weight loss. Plus i had no energy at all. I usually do at least 1hour a day on my treadmill but on my DD i'll probably just do 30mins. Unless of course it doesn't affect my energy levels in which case i'll do my regular hour but just not with the same intensity.

New Rules of Weight Lifting for women sounds interesting. Is that a book. Keep us posted on how your doing. Have you started a diary yet?

Hi thank you both for your replies :)

I had an up day yesterday, I ended up eating 2200 cals but I had burnt 800 cals so that's ok. The new rules of weight lifting is a book designed for women to show them that heavy lifting will not make you bulky. It's a fab workout program and has workouts designed for 6 months. The book cost about £10 on amazon and is well worth the money.

Today is a down day so I'm having lots of cups of tea and green tea. Got a chicken cuppa soup for lunch and tonight's dinner will consist of asda canned new potatoes 54 cals for half a tin, asda steam fresh veg 44 cals and a tine of tuna 134 cals.

:) xx

2200 is abs fine on an up hun, -and your DD menu sounds perfect, I find drinking plenty really helps on a DD , I save a huge amount of cals 150 from my 500 allowance for skimmed milk as I then know I can drink copious amounts of tea/coffee, I always have milk over but I like to know I can have that cuppa when I need it x Sounds like you are doing just fine hun but any questions we are a really friendly bunch and always happy to help. We are probably the happiest bunch because we get to eat what we like for 1/2 the week lol xx Chocolate and cake are not swear words on juddd lol x

Lol I love how chocolate and cake is not a swear word hehe. Quick question, today I've already eaten my 500 cals allowed for today, but I've burnt 600 cals exercising. Are you allowed to eat your exercise cals back if your still hungry so that your net calories is 500? X

No. When you get your calculated allowance from the juddd website it asks you how much exercise you do and so it includes it into your allowance

15 lost : 52 to goal
