Stevia - what is it please?

I noticed in the recipe section that a lot of posts saying you can sweeten quark with stevia.

I've never heard of stevia, what is it and can you buy it in uk please?

Whats quark? I keep seeing that mentioned but I've never heard of it!

I'd never had quark before today, I'm surprised at how nice it is! it smells a bit like plain fromage frais. I bought it in waitrose so presume you can get it in other supermarkets in the uk too.

I normally buy it at either Asda or Sainsbury's but it will take a good look around the cheese section to find it though!

Stevia hasnt been okayed for food in the eu I believe, so its only available from abroad.

They have Stevia in amazon uk if you want it. Maybe its a new thing?
