Hi everyone.we are a massive fan of indian currys in our house and was just wondering if anyone knew of the lowest syns jar yoi could buy in tescos or that. Esp for the likes of Thursday s when I work till nine and need to whip up one quickly.....thanks

Hey Joe :)

I think generally speaking, jar curries don't have any free food allowance, so you can use the "20 cals for a syn" rule. Sharwoods are generally lower cal than Pataks :) about 5 to 7 syns for a 1/3 jar

Or you could make up a bucket of your own sw free curry sauce when you're home and keep a jar of that in the fridge for Thursday :)

Thanks a mil for the reply.excellent idea with pre making it.i guess im just thinking of tonight...id rather pop into tesco on the way home than buy a takeaway.

Lol definitely better than a takeaway, if you do cave and go for a takeaway, I believe a rogan josh is the best "value" from the indian, you'd have to check the values in your book though, I dont have mine to hand I'm afraid. But I think there's a section in the Syns bit of the handbook which has a couple of Indian values, and some Chinese values too.. :D

The Tesco Light Choices Korma or Tikka Masala Sauces are 20 syns per 500g jar! :sigh:

The Lamb Rogan Josh from the Takeaway is 6 -1/2 syns per 360g

If you chuck in plenty of veg though, you'd easy get 4, 5 servings from a jar. No syns for the chicken and rice, so that's 4 or 5 syns for a quick curry, not too bad! Bread is a killer though ;)

Thanks a mil for the replies girls. Think ill grab a jar rather than takeaway..
Id feel better.
Keep that till the weekend:D
