Whilst I was buying all the ingredients for chicken curry (which cost me at least £5) i came across this next to the spices its a tikka spice blend, is this free? Ingredients, coriander seed, paprika, cumin seed, onion powder, salt, coriander leaf, garlic powder, fenugreek, cinnamon, ginger, chilli powder, black pepper, cardamon and clove. My guess is yes its free as its basically a blend of the spices i have just bought....grr

As its my first week can any of u guys tell me if it is free? X

Cool, thanks for ur reply. I tried the slimming world app and it never showed up. So annoying, wish i never bought all those ingredients now, i have prob 30+ jars of herbs n spices dont know where to put them all to many for a spice rack lol i mean im not great at cooking but i give it a go, but i doubt i will use cinamon sticks and cloves in anything else, esp as we cant cook with fruit for free xx

You can put a cinnamon stick in chilli too. You could put cloves in a stew, just one or two. I remember doing a medieval thing in [primary] school where we cooked meat pies and they def had cloves in them.

They are a bit of an acquired taste though!

You could freeze them I think to keep them fresh.

You could also make Chai with them too. That's cinnamon, cloves and cardamon pods. You just put them in a pot or cup and pour boiling water on. I have a mix like that from Whittards. I use it for making Mulled Wine!! Mulled Appple Juice is lovely too, though you do have to syn that of course (and the wine option, sadly!), but I guess you could do a version with squash, not sure how that would work out!
