Hi everyone! Thought I'd introduce myself as I've been lurking these last few days! I'm on day three of induction at the mo after failing miserably on slimming world. I actually feel great, don't feel tired etc. I feel less bloated which is really motivating me. Hope I can stick to this as it seems achievable and I have 4 stone to lose. Any advice for making atkins long term would be fab! :)

Hiya,I'm on day 4 now and feeling fab also!! Failed on most diets but am enjoying this so far- just hoping I get the results too!! 4 stone to lose for me also xx

Hi Kimmi! Thanks for replying! Great to hear you are enjoying it too! What's been your fave meal so far? Could do with some inspiration!

Hi sarey, welcome to the forum! I agree with kimmi, Atkins has been great for me, previously lost 3st or so on Atkins but now have 7st6 to go. It's my 5th day and in and likewise I feel fab!

My advice is,
1)Variety, don't get stuck in eating same old thing, may get bored.
2) look on here, great supportive lot and some fab recipes in recipe section.
3) if not already done so, take before pics and measurements so that when/if ever you stall or aren't losing, you can look back or compare your measurement.

Good luck, sounds like you're doing fantastic!

Hi Sarey and welcome

Day 4 (of a re-start) for me too - good luck! Maybe start up your own diary and the experts here can help out with any questions you might have.

I'm still learning about how to put meals together without going over the carbs! I love mushrooms and have that in most of my meals throughout the day!! I fry mushrooms in butter and add cream cheese or cream and have it over anything and everything!! Add bacon and you have lovely carbonara sauce to add over veg etc! Yummy! Xx

One piece of advice - try and get your carbs from leafy green veg - broccoli, cabbage, spinach and so on - they will help your weight loss - and don't go overboard on the creamy sauces :)

Thanks for all your advice! I'm not one for creamy sauces and love my spinach so its win win!! I'm now a week and a half in and down 6.5lb! Really chuffed!! I've bought some low carb bread from waitrose to try, anyone else have it and not have problems with weight loss? I miss toast in a morning so this may be a good substitute!

6.5 lbs is amazing well done you!! I lost 6 in first week but went off plan on the weekend (went to a cider festival so had no chance!!) and put on 3!! Hoping they'll be off tomorrow morning! Would be interested to see how you get on with the bread, I do miss bread!! X

I did slip up once the weekend too, had a caramel frappucino and a creme egg! Oops! Doesn't seem to have done too much damage though! Will try the bread in the morning and let you know!

Just to report the low carb bread tastes ok! It's got loads of seeds in and is yummy toasted! One slice wasn't enough though!!

Oooooo 3.8, I could live with that- may need to give that a go!! I love homemade burgers, they're beginning to become a bit of a staple in our house. I stuff a bit of cheese in the middle so it oozes out when bitten into - yummy!!!! Xx

Had a stressful 2 days and as a result I've just eaten some chocolate. What should I do? Carry on with Atkins today or write today off? 9lb down as well, could kick myself.

Drink tonnes of water, no more naughties and pretend the chocolate didn't happen :)
