Time for a change :)

Hi everyone! I'm Amy, and have been trying to lose weight for as long as I can remember. A result of bad habits and vicious circles! Really noticed it had got worse from some holiday pics recently and realised I needed to make a change. I heard about CD from a friend and thought I'd give it a go as I've never tried anything like this before, and I'm so glad I did. I'm 2 and a half weeks into the diet now and so far lost 8lbs my first week and 4lbs the second and am so happy with the results! Still got a way to go though - want to lose at least 5st more. Wish I had been introduced to minimins from the start though, it would have been really helpful in the first few days! It's inspiring to see so many people on the same path :)
Hoping that doing this will be extra motivation for me to stick with it! It's really nice to read other peoples stories on here because I have had a lot of negativity towards it from people so am keeping it quiet. Good luck to everyone! xx

Hi Amy - welcome to CD and congratulations on your first 2 weeks! You have done really well - you must be so chuffed!!! :)

I told my CDC about this forum because I found it so helpful. Like many, I haven't announced that I'm doing CD; there are too many people out there who (a) don't understand the imperative to lose the weight, (b) know nothing about CD, but think they know everything and (c) are just plain not supportive for whatever reason. Here in minimins you find people all working on the diet, getting through each day, sharing their challenges and supporting each other through the tough times. Personally, I couldn't do this diet without this forum.

Good luck!

Hi Tizzy51 thanks for your post. Yes, it has been a bit frustrating as I had to tell some people about it and the responses were just not helpful at all, then for instance last week I had a long day and was tired and the response I got was 'do you think it's this diet causing it', I'm fairly sure anyone would be tired after a long day! Others have said it's unhealthy or 'fad diets don't work!' but don't want to listen when I try and explain the way it works and that it is not a fad diet. I am thankful that my Mum is incredibly supportive as she realises how important this is to me and says 'I wish I was having one of those lovely shakes for lunch', which is obviously not true but the thought is very sweet! I just look forward to the day when I am slim, healthy and very happy and all those who doubted me and CD will be proved wrong :D

Good for you! And when you get to the point you can make mousse with the mix and have the bars, your mum might really mean that she wishes she could have some! :)

Well for the first time since I started I am struggling today. Had a very busy day which meant I couldn't have my second shake til late and came home and my housemate was cooking which made it worse. I have stayed strong though and now reading through some threads on here to get some motivation. Even though with CD the loss is faster than other diets, it's still hard to keep the momentum and remind myself it will take time to reach the goal. Fingers crossed I will have a decent loss at my next weigh-in in a couple of days to cheer me up.

Hi Amy - you are so right - even tho CD works and the loss is pretty fast, you still need to work at staying on track and not giving in to temptation or the siren call of food (any food - junk or otherwise!). However, your weigh-in is in a couple of days - you are so close! Mine is Monday and although I would really like to have something off CD, I'm working on not giving into that. I went out for a business dinner on Tues, had sashimi and sushi and gained almost 2lbs...took me til Fri morning to get back to the weight I was Tues morning, and I really want to lose more for Monday. That desire to see a lower number on the scales in 2 days keeps me on track. Truth to tell, Monday is a tough day for me - the nutty little voice in my head says "you've been weighed, you can eat, you have the rest of the week to catch up".

Hang in there - you can do this!!! :)
