Extra Easy Days Trefoil's Trip To Target!

Good Evening!

Some of you might know me, others maybe not!
I've been around on this forum since I was 20 and I am 26 in August.
I live in Harrogate in North Yorkshire and I have yo-yoed on Slimming World for many years. However, as I am getting older, I am trying to finalise a few things in my life and believe that if I solve the issue of my weight, that I feel has been an issue for many years, then everything else will hopefully fall into place.

I have this habit of doing really well, losing 1-1.5 stone, and then leaving the group because I think I can do it alone (I can't), at least I am now fully aware of this so I can stop myself doing it!
Since I was last on here, I have quit smoking, I have no idea what I weigh but I reckon I'm looking at high 14s/early 15s. I am also on tablets for a medical condition and a side effect of these are weight gain (typical). I work in the centre of Harrogate, opposite a Slimming World class that starts at 17:30 which is when I finish work, so I have no excuse.

My Birthday is August the 12th and on the 5th I am going out for a posh meal with my dad. On Friday 12th and for the weekend, I may also be going away with my boyfriend so I would like to have lost a stone! No pushing, nothing urgent, I need to take this slowly.

Looking forward to getting back on here, this was my complete lifeline for many years and I can't wait to feel healthy again!

I love to chat too so if you want some advice/help you are always welcome to pop by!

Here to sub and support! :) Ive always struggled with SW - bad leaders, and as a vegetarian ive always just ended up leaning far too heavily on pasta/potatoes and other carby calorific stuff and rather than lose, I gain. Id love to be able to do it because I think if you can crack it, its a perfect "life style" type plan...but with leaders who have been generally unapproachable and/or a bit useless/clueless (i dont like curry which seems to be the basis of a LOT of the recipes and suggestions they give and am a vegetarian - they have no clue what to do with me and dont really have much interest!) So im keen to see how you get on and maybe learn a few things! :) x

Hello! *waves*

Lovely to have you on board!
Couldn't agree more regarding poor leaders, the lady I am going to see is the regional director for Slimming World around here so hopefully all is good (I haven't heard anything bad!)
When I first started doing SW I used to do Red and Green and I know exactly what you mean regarding leaning on the pasta and potatoes because I had exactly the same issues and found myself eating exactly the same things all of the time, therefore getting fed up!
When I did it before, I was a hotel manager, had all meals provided and never cooked. Totally different now so I too am very interested to see how it goes! Will pass on everything I find out- I eat a lot of veggie food!!

Hope you're well :)

Hello lovely Kay :)

Thank you for your kind words, it's good to be back! You sound totally on it and focused which is wonderful, I'm sure that you will do really well!
I will nip over and have a look at the challenge, it sounds very interesting! I am keen not to push myself but I can't resist a challenge! (Oops!) haha!

Oh my goodness! Completely full of cold and feel hideous! Hopefully this new start will help me out with getting some health bits and bats back into my body!

Laid on the sofa with tissues, blankets, sugar free halls and a big pot of tea...

Need to get rid of this and fast!

I am here- though still ill and now with a confirmed Ear Infection :(

Weighed in at 14st 7lbs which was a slightly pleasant surprise as I really did expect much worse!
Put a target in (as I was asked) for around 13 Stones.

No pressure though, we will see!

Sat at work with my alpen light bars, boiled eggs and oranges :D

Cannot wait to feel better!

Right so:
I am 5"10 and a 25 year old female
I have a size 44 back and according to my mum I am 'rubenesque'
I do not want to lose my shape, I am so curvy and unbelievably proud!

Current Weight: 14 Stones 7lbs
Current BMI: 29.1

Slimming World Target Weight: 13 Stones 0lbs
Slimming World BMI: 26.1

Personal Target? A healthy BMI?
(12 Stones 7lbs takes me to 25.1 but 24.9 would be a healthy BMI! a stretch?! Haven't a clue)

15 Weeks until Birthday weigh in.... Lets see what I can do :D

Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well hun, big (((hugs))) :) , hope your feeling a bit better. Wow you've been busy number crunching :D , it's good your setting yourself targets and are focused on where you want to go. Sometimes just writing things on our diaries helps us keep on track . I'm sure you will hit your goal and achieve a healthy bmi . Hope the rest of your day is going well ;) .

Hello Kay :)

Thanks for the message! Just a little bit run down, tonnes of pressure at work and I look a little zombified but it's passing as I feel LOADS better today which is wonderful!
I always feel better after a bit of number crunching, seems to put things into perspective, and I am still a little bit shocked at lower starting weight than expected, particularly with the fact that I've given up smoking, medication for migraines etc!

The only thing is, I hate choosing an end bit because I always worry I won't get there, whereas I remember getting down to 13,3/13,1 I have no recollection of anything past that or lower than that. Hopefully this time will be different :)

Hope all is well with you!

Looking forward to a fab week :D

Last night we had a lovely meal for dinner! Chilli Chicken with Noodles (Far Eastern) as my OH's mum and Stepdad came over.
I actually have left overs for lunch today minus the chicken which will be lovely!

Recipe was as follows:
Dried Rice Noodles
Frylight
Chicken Breasts x4- diced
2 Aubergines- cubed
2 Peppers, deseeded and sliced into strips
4 tbsps Soy Sauce
4 Spring Onions sliced lengthways

For the sauce:
4 Garlic Cloves
2.5cm/1 inch piece fresh Ginger- peeled, sliced and finely chopped
1 medium red chilli (we put 3 as we like heat!)
1/2 red pepper, deseeded and sliced into strips
2 sliced tomatoes
5 tbsp water
2 tbsp tomato ketchup
1 tsp soft light brown sugar

Put all of the ingredients of the sauce into a blender and blitz.
Cook the noodles, drain and then run under cold water, put to one side.
Heat a wok and spray with frylight. Add chicken and stir dry for 2-3 mins until browned. Add the aubergine and red pepper and stir fry for 1 minute. Add the sauce and bring to the boil.
Add the cooked noodles and stir well to combine. Season with the soy sauce, garnish with the spring onions and serve immediately.

That works out at roughly a syn would it be?!
Its 1 syn for 1 tsp Sugar and 2 syns for 2 tbsp of Ketchup but split into 4, I think I may call it 2.
Either way, I have leftovers for lunch! Yummy :) So colourful!!!!

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post food on here but hey ho will go for it (just thinking as its a weight loss diary not a food diary!) however if I get told off I will move it! The last two days have been as follows:

(By the way, please feel free to jump in and tell me if anything is wrong!)

Tuesday 12th April

Breakfast:
Coffee with 1% milk (out of HEA Allowance)
2x Chocolate Alpen Light Bars (HEB)
2x Large Oranges

Lunch:
2x Boiled Eggs
Shredded Wafer Thin Ham
Melon and Apple cubes

Dinner:
Chilli Chicken with Noodles and mixed vegetables
(Recipe Above)
My OH also believes he may have added some extra olive oil yesterday as it stuck a bit. I'm adding some extra syns. He says he used no more than 1 tbsp and used the measuring spoons so I will add 4?
Syns in the Ketchup and Sugar = 2

Total Syns = 6

Wednesday 13th April

Breakfast:
1/2 White Grapefruit
Raspberry & Cranberry Mullerlight
Coffee with 1% milk (out of HEA allowance)

Lunch:
Left over noodles and vegetables from yesterday
2x Large Oranges
2x Cherry Bakewell Alpen Light bars (HEB)

Dinner:
Left over noodles and vegetables from yesterday
Soy sauce, two boiled eggs and chicken chopped into it.
1tbsp Olive Oil
Frozen Fruit- defrosted in the microwave

Syns = 6

Weirdly, already seeing a bit of an issue.

My big issue was that I didn't eat breakfast or lunch and was only eating dinner and pudding too. My tablets make me feel quite sick so often I don't have an appetite. Looking at my diary above, the food is very scarce and I don't seem to be using Syns.
I don't really drink, don't like chocolate, don't eat bread etc and I'm wondering with the exception of mayonnaise and olive oil (we cook from scratch practically every night) what am I going to use my Syns on?! I have latex fruit allergy syndrome so a lot of fruits are out, and I do eat a lot of veg.
If I was looking at someone else's diary, I would say that they aren't eating enough :/

Ugh :(

After sleeping on it, I have decided that worrying isn't a good idea! I am terrible if I worry and I won't do myself any good at all...
I also realised that although we do cook from scratch that when my OH cooks, I can always count on a few extra Syns in it so at least that's something.
I also turned down vanilla and peanut butter cheesecake yesterday too which I was rather proud of :D

Looking forward to today, let's see what it will bring!

I'm a worrier too Ruth, I defo said to myself this time around to take it easy, I think it helps the nerves :) , as long as were trying, that's all that matters. And I can see from your posts, you really are, food looks so good. I couldn't see the pic though o_O . Have you tried adding essential fats to your diet, they are high in nutrients and so good for your health and you can syn them. Things like avocado in salads, nuts and seeds, olive oil for dressing, just some tips ;).

I struggled to see the pic too which is weird, but could see it today, which I know is totally odd....
I have just been talking to my OH about what I can add into my diet to use as syns and I think that's exactly what I'm going to do- make guacamole etc!
Still enjoy a few treats, date night etc but mainly focus on syns through cooking, sauces and good fats and oils- thanks for the tip!

Hope that you're ok! Your meals do really look so yummy :)
I can't wait to plan everything further- it's weird, after all of the years in the hospitality industry, I don't seem to have to adjust my life as much as I have in the past- probably because I don't eat rubbish!

Watch this space!!
