TwentySixPointFive to go!

Hello all!

I need to lose weight! I've yoyo-ed over the past few years, weighing everything from 8st 4lb (too skinny for my 5' 9" frame) to 12st 3lb (far too big!). I'd like to get back to about 9 stone, and started Diet Chef yesterday to help me do so.

I've done WW in the past and it's been fantastic, but I find I'm only good with WW when I can go to classes, and my irregular working patterns and locations just doesn't allow that at the moment. Trying WW on my own doesn't work for me and never has - I can't handle the choice! I'm hoping only being able to eat the DC food plus fruit and veg will stop me from falling off the wagon - if it isn't DC or fruit/veg, it ain't going in my mouth!

Day one was fairly good, though I was fairly hungry throughout the day. Day two is going well too - I can honestly say I haven't disliked any of the food so far.

I have 26.5 pounds to lose, and I'd love to do it by mid/end February if possible. Here's hoping it works!

I know I can lose weight - I've done it successfully twice in the past (each time losing around 2.5 stone) but this time I really want to keep it off. I'm hoping DC will do what WW didn't and teach me about portion control - when I'm not dieting it's not that I eat the wrong things (I eat fairly healthy meals, home cook when possible, don't really eat much chocolate/sweet things), I just eat too much!

I'm going to weigh in every Sunday (as I started yesterday) - wish me luck!

End of day two:
Miraculously not hungry! I'm foregoing my planned fruit for dessert as I had a sneaky hot chocolate this afternoon when I met a friend, but I did go for a long walk so not feeling guilty about it!
Dinner was DC sweet and sour chicken - it actually wasn't as bad as I expected. I bought my months supply of DC from eBay, from someone who had got to their goal weight and still had over a month's supply left. Probably not the safest way to but diet food, but the boxes were still all dealed and it was an absolute bargain! The downside is that it's not quite the food I like - there's a fair few bags of sweet popcorn (I'm definitely a salt popcorn girl!) and there is loads of sweet and sour chicken, which I normally hate, but it isn't actually too bad, especially if you add extra veggies to tame the sweetness!
So, today's menu was:
Breakfast: DC luxury muesli with skimmed milk
Drinks: tea and coffee, skimmed milk, sweetener in the coffee
Lunch: DC sweet potato and coconut soup - yummy!
Snack: DC muesli bar, choc flavour
Dinner: DC sweet and sour chicken with stir fry veg

Plus lots of water - I'm normally rubbish at drinking water so am really trying to glug it back to avoid water retention, especially as it's TOTM!

I hope everyone else has had a good diet-friendly and happy day!

I'm half way through day three and the hunger is definitely easing as my stomach returns to a normal size!

Today I've had the pink apple and cinnamon granola and the chicken and thyme soup, neither of which have made it onto my favourites list, but both of which were completely edible. The soup was a bit flavourless and needed some pepper and a bit of parsley stirred in, but then most chicken soups are fairly bland - it tasted quite a lot like Heinz cream of chicken soup does.

I was surprised I didn't like the apple granola more, as I've read lots of people raving about it, but it's not a patch on the treacle and pecan granola, which is absolutely heavenly, though very sweet in comparison to my usual bran flakes/weetabix!

Today's snack is the berries oat biscuits (I had one this morning - delicious! Saving the other for this afternoon) and dinner is the beef in ale, which I'll add some veg to.
I've been having a small (from one of those small half loaves) piece of bread with my soup each lunchtime for an extra 99 calories, which has helped with hunger and has also stopped the feeling of only eating liquid/mush that you get with Diet Chef!

The best part of this morning was definitely the sneaky step on the scales this morning - over 3.5lb down already! I know this is mostly water weight, but it's definitely encouraged me to stick to it and keep going - I can't wait to see my results (weight and measurements) at the end of the week!

I should say, I'm more than happy for other people to post in my diary - I'd welcome any support or comments!

Well it's the end of day 6 and I feel great!

Days 4 and 5 were harder, as I felt quite sick - I think due to too much exercise on day 3 and maybe just TOTM!

But today I've come out the other side of it - I haven't really felt hungry at all today but have munched through it. Perhaps my stomach is finally adjusting!

I'm certainly finding the breakfasts more filling and I don't really get hungry between meals; before Diet Chef I was always hungry between meals!

Tomorrow will be a challenge - I'm going out for brunch in the morning and drinks in the evening so won't have breakfast, brunch I'll try to choose something low-fat and low-carb and it can serve as lunch too and then I'll have the lunchtime soup for dinner. I'll save a few calories for drinks and try to stick to vodka and diet coke and steer clear of the cocktails!

I've also decided to move my weigh-in day to Monday, as Sunday is such an artificial day weight-wise - if I've been out for a meal the night before then I'll be bloated and heavier than my true weight, and I like the 'fresh start'- ness of Mondays. So my first week will actually be 8 days rather than 7.
