Veg calories

Hello, I am returning to calorie counting after a good loss about 7 years ago. I have been to WW (successfully) and SW (unsuccessfully) so am going back to basics.
Now, I was wondering what people thought about counting calories in vegetables? With the above diets most veg was 'free' so could be used to bulk out meals. And I was hoping to continue with that method but work out a smaller daily calorie allowance to take this into account?
I am struggling with exercise at the moment as I had SPD when pregnant and am left with terribly sore hips and back just now, I'm hoping that losing a few pounds will ease this abit to enable me to start gentle exercise at least.
Thanks for reading...
Amanda

Hello! I moved from SW to WW to cc too, so totally understand where you're coming from... most veg, I count a "portion", but don't really weigh. Like mushrooms, I put 100g of mushrooms on my calorie tracker (I use MFP) which is 15 cals, but take about a handful of mushrooms, if that makes sense? I won't deliberately weigh out 100g each time.
I will weigh the ones that would be pointed though, or not superfree, so peas, parsnips, potatoes lol but most of the "superfree" I approximately judge the portions.
:D
