Does anyone know anything about Victoza? I received an email about it from the online clinic and it's supposed to me more effective than Xenical. From what I can tell it's an injection that breaks down the fat cells???? Was just wondering if anyone uses it and if it's available on the NHS?

Hiya - from what i know of the drug, it is for treatment of type 2 diabetes. It is injected daily by the user. There is a significant increased risk of thyroid cancer associated with it - so much so that they have warnings on the box and on the home page of the website. There are also loads of nasty side effects and its recommended that its not the first choice of treatment used by Drs unless the risks from the diabetes outweigh the risks from the drug itself.
I think i'd say clear of this one... *sigh* I wish they'd never taken reductil off the market!
