Wedding Dress

I found a wedding dress that I really love. And because it's on clearance it's only £150!!!

But I don't know what size to get and I'm getting married in September... :(

Would it be best to just skip this dress this time ? x

If you really really love it and dont think you'll find another dress you love so much then go for it.
Buy it in a big-ish size, not the size you hope you'll be in september, coz at least if it's too big it can be taken in.

Just looked at your stats....you could be at goal by september!

Well so far this week and last week I've lost 11lbs. I know that I can lose 5 stone by july looking at everyone elses stats.

I'm going to buy it and in July if I can't fit in to it I will carry on shredding weight until I can. I'm gonna get it in a 16. I know that to buy a 16 dress in monsoon, which to me come up quite small, I have to be 12 stone. So I'm aiming for 11 stone :)

Thanks for your support xxx

Where is the dress from? Is it in bridal shop? I have ordered mine in a 16, but in bridal sizes it's nearer a size 14. I would always advise going to a size above your goal, that way if you lose more you can easily have it taken in.

Once you have the dress it's a bit of incentive to keep going!

I bought mine off sale rail whilst I was significantly heavier, hadn't heard of this diet. It is going to b taken in aboit 6 sizes. I have been assured by their appointed seamstress that this is not a problem! So if it is from a bridal shop, ask them if it can be adjusted and if it can buy a little bigger. Also ask their advice on designers sizing, apparently some are particularly worse than others, much smaller than normal sizing x

Right ok, I will email them today.

Thanks guys for your help.

It's online. I've seen their dresses before in the shops but never this particular one, I remember looking at it 3 years ago when my wedding was entirely different and liking it but not loving it.

For some unknown reason the dress is now perfect. It's beautiful and not too much, and it won't be too consuming dragging it round a zoo. (Our wedding is in Oakfield Manor, Chester Zoo).

I will ask them if it's true to size or not. It's a lace up back which makes the task a bit easier if it's too big. xxx

Wow a zoo! that will be good for our guests!!! Very different. They should be able to give you the bust, waist and hip measurements for the dress in the different sizes, and then you should be able to gage what you can manage to lose by then. Depends what your body type is but they say on average 10lbs - 14lbs per inch. And exercise always contributes to inch loss depending on the types of exercise etc.

Hi guys,

Yeah a zoo. Pretty mad I know. But we've never been ones to really think traditional - we were going to do it in Barbados, but OH's nan got ill so we've moved the wedding forward.
The ceremony does take place in the zoo - there is a manor house inside it, it takes place there, then we have drinks, 3 course meal, photos around the zoo, everyone gets free access and reserved parking so we can spend till 5:30 in there. Then just go back to the hotel we're staying in and have a buffet and drinks, nothing major. I'm a student so budget is tight and shipping the whole family up to Chester is a nightmare lol.

I have decided to hold back on the dress, I think they will have them in stock when I need them anyway, They can custom make it for me aswell at no extra cost. I have a wedding dress/prom gown upstairs that I bought last year from China on ebay, it was so cheap I thought I might aswell even if I dont like it. Turns out I love the dress but its blue so I cant have it. But when I fit in to that I know that its time to order my dress.

Thanks so much for the support guys and answering my questions :)

It sounds lovely! We aren't having a church wedding either my OH is in the navy and he is unfortunately being made redundant in feb so we've had to cut our budget a bit, we are doing centrepieces and candy buffet and other stuff ourselves to save the pennies!

We are getting married at a country estate that used to be an RAF officers mess, it's lovely and no too pricey, we are having buffet style food and just want a nice relaxed chilled day for us and our guests!

Have you been and tried any dresses on yet then>? I was so nervous and thought I would look foul in a white wedding dress! But I didn't and found one I fell in love with. I didn't even pick it out, the woman in the shop blindfolded me and ask if she could pick one out, not one I'd of picked myself, in fact I even brushed past it on the rails, but I just loved it on, and my sister was stunned. So ordered it, but two bloody sizes smaller lol!!
