Am off to Disneyland Paris for 5 days later in the month. From experience, eating options are very limited and rather expensive off season. So, am trying to think of free/low syn foods that I can take out for lunch and snacking in the park that can be taken on holiday with me and prepared in the hotel room in the morning.
So far am thinking packets of flavoured cous cous, tinned ham and fish with crackerbreads/melba toast. Have just tried an experiment with a dried pasta and sauce type sachet putting into a tupperware container with boling water and leaving the lid on for 20 mins and it kind of worked. The sauce was still a bit watery but the pasta was cooked and edible. Will also try with savoury rice. Does anyone have any tips as to which brands work best with no cooking, just adding boing water.
Also thought flavoured smash is worth taking - I'm know that it won't be very appetising if eaten cold, but would be good to fill up on.
I'm not really looking for the most appetising or pleasing of stuff. Just things that I can fill up on that will curb the desire to snack on all of the incredibly high sugar/fat foods that are on display everywhere. Or stuff that will provide bulk and allow me to enjoy a small synful snack and feel satisfied.
Any tips, hints, stories from experience very gratefully received!
