Hi Irene the xenical is from ur gp on prescription and the alli is from the chemist which is much weaker.
I have just dug out the paperwork that come with the Xenical and cant see anything bout a starter pack.

I've got xenical/orlistat from the doctor. Just trying to decide whether to give it a go.

I've heard if the doc prescribes it you can request the starter pack. I think it's mentioned in the paperwork in the drug pack.

Oh, and I think it's the actual drug/active ingredient that's called orlistat and Xenical is the brand name (like Nurofen and Ibuprofen)

I just checked my paperwork in my box and there is nothing bout that, and i also went onto the the site in the above post and still could not see anything to get a pack lol x

I was prescribed it over a year ago so probably dont have the paperwork anymore. Maybe I saw it somewhere on t'internet when I was checking if the side effects were normal! Sorry for confusion.X
