¡¡ʎǝuɹnoɾ s,ǝpuolqǝǝzʇıp - same old, same old!

Am thinking about phoning my health visitor.. doesn't make any odds if she helps pick the veg, make the dinner, she then refuses to eat!

If I made her sausages & potato waffles every night then she'd eat!

I bet she eats more than you think!! Some kids are just grazers. Macy is, and always has been. I used to get really wound up about it, but now I just let her graze in good stuff, like bread (aaah, I said a sin word!!), cheese, ham, yogurts, fruit etc. Ok, she is older now, so does have meals, but she is still a grazer at heart. I think a lot of toddlers dont like the full meals.
xx

She doesn't eat any fruit or veg but does love her milk & yogurts!

I guess I'm just hung up on her especially because she's a girl & I don't want her to have my food hang ups & issues!! Probably stressing myself out far too much!

If thats what she'll eat give her that hun. At least its a meal and not junk as such. Oliver is still fussy and would live off dippy egg and soldiers if i let him. I think its a phase all kids go through

Hiya hunny..
Does yer DD like tomato sauce based pasta?

When my DS was around 3 yrs old he went through a stage of not eating anything unless it was pasta..so i would make up a tomato sauce and throw loads of veggis in it and blend it so he didnt know..LOL

Wow on 5-6 litres water chuck x

Thats a good idea. Also let her see you eating different foods. Kids always like to eat from someone elses plate, especially mummy's

Won't even get close to pasta.. if she doesn't like the look of something she will not get anywhere near it!

Waters been as pants as my food choices today tho.. only 2 litres!

She loves looking at my food & names what I'm eating or asks what it is if she doesn't know.. she'll touch things but when I ask if she wants to try it she shouts NO & goes off!

Ive also heard of kids eating foods seperately. Like pasta but with the sauce on the side

Will try anything... think I'll start putting things on a plate with sausages & waffles, pasta or veggies etc. I read somewhere that a child has to see something 16 timies before they eat it!!

You should try putting a plate out for you (even if your not eating) with different things on it let her touch and feel it and see if you can encourage her to try it. I was told to let them play with food to learn. Oliver went off carrots for ages then the other day he watched something with rabbits and came out to me saying "mummy please may i have a carrot, i want to be a rabbit". He then ate a whole raw carrot.

Babe you have done nothing wrong. Dont ever think like that. Your a fantastic mum. I think AJ is too young to have picked up on anything like that. As long as she sees you eat i dont think she will question what and why's just yet. Dont ever refer to your food as diet food or say that you "cant" have something to her while she doesnt understand. When she gets to an age where she can, properly understand and you explain dibetes to her then i honestly dont think you will have a problem. Hun if you stopped feeding you kids "normal" food then i would say your a terrible mum, but you dont so i really wouldnt worry. I think it is more a thought in your head that only you can see. AJ looks very much like a healthy little girl, not malnurished or ill in any way at all.

Thanks hun... I guess I just know my hang ups & its easy to think that I've done something to make her this way. Funny my OH thinks that Jakey was exactly the same but b'coz he's a boy I never worried or felt like I'd done something wrong!

I need to relax about it to make her relax about it I guess & even though I know she won't eat stuff just keep putting it onto her plate everyday!

Thanks guys you've been so supportive. xxx

Hun i dont want this to come out wrong so forgive me if it does. Your forgetting that although you might put them to practice most of your hang ups are in your head. Kids do have a funny time with food. Honeslty come over and watch what my son eats. You'll leave feeling very normal. Lol. Look at Jacob, he went through it and now eats well. Repeat after me..... I am a great mum.....i do not let my habits rub off anyone as i do not have any....I used to but not now!

Im off to bed now gorgeous. Got to get some beauty sleep while i can (on night tomorrow). Sleep well, speak tomorrow. xx

Big hugs babe. Ive gained 2lb from the weekend so you are not alone. We can do this just need to get planning again.

oww sweetie!!!

kids are sent to try us! i have a friend whose lad, since the age of 3/4 will only eat breaded asda chicken nuggetts and a certain brand of chips...he has that 7 days a week.

my youngest will eat processed meat all day, hame, chicken, stuff you put on saries, but give him a slice of any meat off the joint and he will gag on it!

make her the sausages and waffles and add something on theside that is good for her, corn, peas, broccoli....the more they see it the more they will eat it....

when mine tell me they have finished i normally portion whats left and say, 'eat that and then you can leave the table' 'that bit' normally includes a peice of veg lol

kids are fussy ******* and there isnt a handbook to go with them, its just trial and error xxx

Morning chicka..
hey please dont think your DD's lack of eating is your fault...its what our children go through...as i said my DS went through the same at a similar age too...

Just thinking on the pasta front you can get shaped dried pasta now perhaps try that what characters does she like etc etc..

My DS is now 10 and he has a briiliant appetite but is a nightmare in a morning..never wants any breki but come 10am he starts eating for england and when we go anywhere he is instantly hungry+thirsty!!

Good luck for yer WI and have a nice day...:) xx

!! my youngest has never been a breakfast person, even as a baby!

bloody nightmare the minute you leave the house lol

See ive never been a breakfast person and at the age of 4-5 i ate so little my dinner was called a sparrows dinner! I would never eat at school either. She eats and thats the main thing.
