Morning all...

Sorry I've been awol, been a busy bee!

Got some energy back now so its great to be able to get stuff done!

Had my first check up yesterday & all is A ok, found out I've kind of had a mini bypass has I've only had 70 x 70cm bypassed compared to the normal 150 x 150cm. Means I will have less issues with malabsorption & will get more nutrients from my foods than others.
I thought a bypass was a bypass!

How is everyone doing??

Has Jim returned in one piece from his lads weekend... haven't seen him about? x

Hi Guys...

Just wanted to let you know that my dad went to have a check & he's been diagnosed with T3 bladder cancer which is a stage 3 so it is an invasive cancer. He has to go & see the specialist to find out more next tuesday!

My best friend has just been told that her mum's cancer is now not treatable & she is now just being made comfortable & her mother in law has been diagnosed with blood cancer!

Bloody disease is just everywhere isn't it!! xxx

Oh hun, i honestly dont know what to say. Its terrible. Im hear if you need a chat or to ask anything, if i dont know i have a friend that does. Big hugs to you and my thoughts with the family.

Its hard to figure out how to feel really... am a bit stunned by the news really, haven't cried (yet)!

The options are chemo injections up the penis into the bladder or to have the whole bladder removed. I think I'm doing ok b'coz my Dad's being so strong & I'm very like him so I'll go along with how he's doing, my Mum & sister are all over the place but much more emotional types.

Been having a read up on it... I like to overdose on info its how I deal with things!xx

Good for you babes. If they cut out the bladder can they get rid of it all? Im sure which ever option your dad makes it will be the right one for him and thats whats important.
It might help to read things for him as im sure he will go in wanting to listen but might not be able to take it all in. Get him to take a pen and paper with him so he can take notes. And if any of you think of questions make sure you write them down so you dont forget. Sorry but we had all this with marks dad and the times they forgot what they wanted to ask or couldnt remember what was said to think about it after.

I havent been on here lately but I read your diary and wanted to post my experience, I hope you don’t mind.

My granddad earlier in the year (March/April) was diagnosed with bladder cancer. I cant tell you the stage because I don’t know BUT after an initial operation to remove the tumour he had injections directly into his bladder through his penis. He had a course of 8-10 weeks treatment every Friday. Initially the treatment made him sore, fluey, lethargic and nauseous but after a few months he feels much better.

He has recently been given the all clear and has now moved onto maintenance treatment.which he will have for the next 2-3 years.

My granddad is 81, alive and kicking. Do keep faith that this can be treated and doesn’t mean a death sentence.

Love and hugs to you and your family.
