makes 16 - 1 syn per cupcake

Ingredients

6 eggs
56g self raising flour (or 28g cocoa powder & 28g s.r flour if you want chocolate cakes) -9
9 tablespoons granulated sweetener
2 teaspoons orange or vanilla essence (up to you)

Topping

1 tbsp icing sugar -3
1 tbsp cocoa powder-1
Choc drops 48 (3 per cake) (mine weights roughly 12g) - 3
25g cold water to mix icing sugar & cocoa

Method

Whisk up egg whites until stiff

In a separate bowl whisk egg yolks with either the orange or vanilla essence & sweetener, add a 1/4 of the egg white & beat until pale yellow.

Add the flour gradually & fold into the mix carefully, when done add the rest of the egg whites & fold in.

Divide equally into 16 cupcake cases & bake in the oven on 180 for about 10 to 12 mins, or until golden & firm to the touch.

Wait until cool & then mix the cocoa & icing sugar in a bowl with some water so make a thickish paste. Spread a spoonful of choc icing onto each cupcake (divide into 16) and put 3 choc drops on each cake.

Nom!

They are actually really tasty & easy to make!

They actually taste like profiteroles, so i was thinking when you are about to eat them you could get some anchor light and put the nozzle into the cake and squirt a little in to the cake! Voila! A profiterole! It would probably take the syn value up to 1.5 -2syns?

going to make these this afternoon:D

Thanks Gonnabesmall :)
Well the choc drops i used came to 3 syns so About the same- 1 syn, seeing as 3 syns into 16 is fractional- You could always sprinkle a little bit of flake on instead or even choc sprinkles- shouldn't add too much if it's just a dusting :)

I don't know if they store well as i only made 8 & they went quite quickly :D I wouldn't put them in the fridge though :) hope you both enjoy x

Just joined sw monday cant wait to make these for our royal wedding meetin in 2 weeks great idea and look delish

No- 56g of self raising flour= 9 syns
56g cocoa powder = 9 syns

So it would be the same if you use one or the other- If you want choc ones it's probably best to use 28g flour & 28g of cocoa- I will change the original recipe as i doubt the cakes will rise with all cocoa powder.

I made the choc ones the other day with half and half and they don't raise quite so well as the plain ones.
