Morning lovely lady
Good idea on the fire blocks.. Our fire was tiny (before it exploded up on us!!!) but gave out great heat and took nothing to fill it.. We only had a 12" grate.. Nearly impossible to find the bits to fit in.. So jealous of your open fire as they're so cosy.. But i'll never have one again (if I have my way anyway)
Oh god-12" - mines 20" !! See my problem. But i love my fire. I can totally understand why you wouldn't trust one now but I wouldnt have bought the house if it didnt have an open fire to be honest. Love it. x

Certainly do. My God that's huge...
Funny thing is... An open fire was a must on our shopping list too .. But that was the second time one blew up on me so I wasn't taking a chance again. Blocked up never to b lit again. J was going mad coz in fairness, the back boiler was gone so it cudnt happen again. But I just wouldn't feel safe/comfortable with it again. We were so so lucky ill never take a chance again

Ya thinkg my ssiter's in Crumlin's fireplace is bout 12" aswel. I know they found it nera impossible to find a replacement grate last year aswel. I completely understand your reluctance. Im sure id be the same. Sure the ranges are still cosy. And curled up with J and bubs-shur im sure you're very cosy.

We got one of those ones that hangs in middle of the wall n looks like a second tv ha ha ha
Tho I will admit I miss an open fire. Nothing's as cozy on a wet crappy day

Front of island. Dining table sits in here with chairs on outside
Back of island. Lots more storage... And.. The island is on wheels so can be pushed into a corner out of the way if needs be. But the plan is to bring a decking area up level with the back doors so it be rolled outside during good summer days n we can dine el fresco

Absolutely. I love it. N we've fitted the tv now too so it's used more than any other room in the house
We still need to find the right table tho. ATM we're using our old one waiting to find the perfect one... Still have a tonne of empty presses mind. There actually is a thing of too much space ya kno!!! Lol

Ha-I don't believe you. I'm like every other home in the country and would love more! Hehe. I manage though.
Ah the Table will come. From my experience when you have something To use, there's no rush replacing. Everything came with mine. I'm still using a bed frame cos can't afford the bed I want. Still using the sofa that came with it as can't afford the love seat I want. Oh well. x

Yea that it. It's awful looking n does away from the kitchen (which is why it's not in the pictures) but it does the job. I'm not rushing to get one. I'm waiting to find "the right one"
The other house we were buying was coming with everything n I'd hav been using everything for as long as needed tbh. I'm not above second hand by any means. N if I cum across my table in a second hand shop or on the freebie websites, ill b grabbing it.

I love it... All built, designed and fitted by my one n only Great having a cabinet maker as a co-owner to your house LOL
In fairness we literally got to build the kitchen we wanted as we had to pull down the old kitchen extension (it was build very badly and was pulling away from the house) and rebuild.. So we had a blank canvas to work with.. Took a while getting it but it was definitely worth the wait
