Hi Brona, good to see you back & grabbing the bull by the horns so to speak!! I too will be sticking some kind of rocket up my a*** as iceboat counted a thing/exercised for quite some time! Great restraint on the Chinese :)

So I spent yesterday curled up on sofa watching dvds-cider house rules, pretty woman, the princess bride and the bodyguard......Really enjoyed it...

But..... storm Christine hit during the night and its miserable outside.
Think it mite be another day of the same!!! I dont fancy goin out in that, even to shops when I dont really have to. Was gona buy bits for a salad but I can change the menu... :)

Oh no hun.. Were you hit bad??
We've not been too bad.. Was awake most of the night on n off (thoughts of coming back to work meant I couldn't sleep) n heard allot of wind n rain but it wasn't too bad.. Pretty wet n grey out there this morning but not too bad again.. Considering what poor Cork n that were hit with last week (Were your parents OK from that one?)

I def wouldn't leave the house if you don't have to.. And yesterday sounds just perfect to me.. You need a day like that every once in a while...

I don't think much damage was done around here but its horrible to listen to. I moved anything that's not nailed down into the garage last night so I could sleep without wondering if things were being blown away. But I have a serious fear of driving in heavy wind. Already thinking of getting a taxi to work meeting tomoro! lol! When I was in Galway before Christmas seeing my new nephew, me and my mam were driving back to stay in my brothers after hospital visit. And the wind was moving the car. My mam was like 'oh my God the cars going to lift'. I was like 'ya, that's not f**king helping mam!'. I already didn't like driving in high wind, now im just kinda freaked!
So another trackie, sofa, DVD day I think. Lucky I have enough food in my freezer to last me a month, at least! ;) Just not much fresh!

No my parents are ok where they are. They're further south than Bandon which got hit pretty badly and in West Cork. We don't live by the coast which is a relief right now! Cork city got hit very badly. Feel so sorry for them....

Hope your first day back at work goes ok. x

Aw welcome back hon. How was Christmas and New year etc?
Aw you'll great hon once you're ready to get your head back into it! :)

Was really really windy up here last night too. I went out about midnight to put our bins in the garage. Half expected the hens to be missing this morning. Its still windy now but not as bad. I've seen some pictures of Cork city and it looks pretty bad. I love that city too, very beautiful. Hopefully that'll be the worst of the storms over and done with.

YOu do right, stay in the house, curl up on the sofa and relax x

Im feeling good again today. So glad im back on it. Its helping me keep positive during January blues....

Not going out for lunch today so going to continue to use up some food that needs using so pate for breakfast, egg sandwich for lunch! ;)
Have steak taken out for dinner so gona do a healthy version of the steak dinner we were discussing the other night! ;) Just need to sit down and work out points as im going out for lunch tomorrow and its just a buffet/carvery place so I usally get a sandwich but they don't have great healthy options unless I get something awfully dry, plain and boring, so wana make sure I have weeklies for that too.... :)
Then keep a few for sleepover Wed at work again cos work is so hard to be good at and then gona stick to dailies Thursday as going to WW class Thursday evening....

I don't usually go to evening classes. What do people do? WI, then stick to dailies after it (ill be having my dinner when I get home after meeting). I know some people come home and eat any dailies and weeklies they have left but I don't know, it doesn't make much sense.....
To be honest, im not planning on taking much notice of what the scales say at the meeting cos the evening WI never appealed to me. Im more going to get inspiration as shes a really good leader (hope its still same one) and I think ill just WI Fri morn at home on my own scales as normal, in which case, ignore above question-think ill just treat Thurs as a normal 'day before WI fri morn' day.....

Ok rambling over.... really need to get out of bed and have a shower. Need to get boxes out of attic for Christmas decorations. Will do a little bit during day and put them back up tomorrow. (no point stressing myself out ;) ). Get coal and blocks and turf in and that's me done besides cooking for the day! :)

My mam went out to turn off the heat last week at home in west cork and I had to follow her out, thought she'd get blown away! So you be careful too! ;)
Ya im really hoping they'll pass in the next week or two at most. I have no desire to do anything or go anywhere in this weather! And when im at work, its awful boring because its not safe to drive the bus (high, transit bus) so you cant do anything there either! I can take the rain, just get rid of the wind!!
But I know that wouldn't solve the flooding issues. Cork are going to be counting their loses for a while yet..... :(

Yea its awful.. Seen some pics of the River Lee burst... Awful sad... People only getting their homes back to normal after last years flooding etc... Very sad...
And awful they can't get any cover from insurance companies.. Though I do see where they're coming from too.. Obviously they don't want to lose money...

God it sounds horrible...didn't realise how bad cork was hit, I've friends there, should really check in...

Still good excuse for a duvet day ;)

No duvet day in the end. But got few bits done that needed to be done and not finished yet.... Ah well, besides a 2 hour house meeting tomorrow, im not working so ill take it easy again tomorrow.... :)

mmmmm steak, makes me think about chips and onion rings and...

salad?

lol! x

Oh Shez.... I had the most amazing dinner.... Will put up pic in a sec.... ;)
