Hey all,

Autumn the once a month weigh in is a brilliant idea. Im a serial weigher and today i put on 2lb but my Wi day isnt until sunday so ill make sure its gone haha.

Does anyone else find that if you have a bad day food wise no matter how determined you are to get back on track you cant start? Im feeling it today i want to walk the 3 miles to work but my body doesnt seem to want to move.

Oooh yes! Only too well. :(
It really dictates our mood and the ability to get going. Why why why?
Thats another reason to give up the scales eh? Tempted, very tempted....

Sorry about ur gain - great news ur taking on the chin - ur really changing ur mindset aren't u? Not like me - with my sts - I was in a real grump for a few hours - good job I was on my own!! I think we do fluctuate with water retention - it's just a pain on WI day!!

Brave too to put ur scales away - but a really good idea - I think we all know when we lost and gained - but I'm still addicted to mine - more homework again! Enjoy ur weekend.

i think the fact I'm making a wee bit of effort with exercise is stopping me getting annoyed about it. I'm addicted to my scales too, but I really want to try it, I will give it until the first Friday in May. If I've shot way up weight wise then I might have to rethink, but I want to at least try. I saw a before and after of a girl who's weight difference between the two pics was only 2kg, but her body looked totally different

Sorry about your gain Autumn. Your attitude is brilliant though and yes, maybe putting those scales away for a while isn't such a bad thing. You are seeing changes in your body so what you are doing is obviously having a good effect. Don't let the scales set you back, keep up the good work!

Happy belated birthday Loulou, hope you enjoyed your day. It sounds as though you have got right back on track so well done.

Just to share with you all, I was chuffed to bits yesterday as my hairdresser came, she hasn't seen me since I started on the diet and the first thing she said to me was "have you lost weight?". It has put a huge grin on my face! :D

I am off plan now until the 28th. Hoping not to put too much back on though and I will still be popping in regularly to see how you are all doing.

I'm getting annoyed with having to be so strict on myself the night before a weigh in etc, so it will be nice to go a bit easier on myself, while sticking to plan as much as I can obviously! Delighted that your hairdresser made that common, I think it means so much more when it comes from someone who doesn't know you are trying to lose, my oh compliments me a lot but I think that's cos he is trying to spur me on lol. Hope you enjoy your time off plan!

i agree that it will def be a challenge in itself lol. It's crazy when we feel so great and the scale doesn't match that, I think we need to come to terms with the fact that sometimes our bodies will do whatever the hell they want lol

i totally feel like that a lot, even when I really want to be good, it doesn't always work! I also find if I'm eating something less healthy and have it early, it sets the tone for the rest of the day, and is generally a slippery slope lol

Oh I am a slave to my scales don't think I could go a month without weighing myself!

Go you though you are seeing changes in your shape & that is what you want too.

Im a scale lover too, but Im also taking measurements as when I lost 7 stone I would have a month where I was going mental over the scales not moving much, measured myself and I had lost inches but not much actual weight and to be honest, its our size we want to reduce, our size is what makes us fixate on the scales because to us, pound loss means size loss, but that isn't always the case, esp when exercising. The more muscle we have the better our metabolism, if your 9 stone with a low body fat percentage and high muscle percentage your body will burn more calories just living because muscle burns more calories then fat and your be smaller then being 9 stone with a higher fat percentage.

Fat loss is simple maths, burning more calories then you consume, exercise burns calories so you will loss fat but not always weight, the weight will go down too but sometimes slower if you exercise but your be getting smaller, which really is our aim, I think we just put too much importance in seeing the scales go down and think that we cant get smaller without the scales moving.

That all said... Im still desperately hoping I lose at least half a pound tomorrow and get into the 13's haha, fingers crossed!!

Not sure how I managed it, but 2lbs off this week, total of 19lbs lost now in 8 weeks. Two pretty good loses after having 1 bad day each week... don't want to get my head into thinking I can have a bad day and still lose though but maybe proof that if you pull back the rest of the week after a bad day, all hope isn't lost... its when that one bad day turns into two or three or four bad days and if you don't adjust your calories to account for it.
