40 day challenge!

Thanks Flubster, keep going it is so worth it!

Saying that, I'm a bit peeved as I had a sneaky peek this morning (official weigh in tomorrow) and not lost a lot this week. But my OH was in the same boat but he dropped 3lb since yesterday so all is not lost. Weight loss is so strange! You'd think it'd come off gradually each day but it really doesn't does it?! No loss one day and then 2 or 3 lb off the next...weird! As long as it's all the right direction I'll stay positive (when I've stopped sulking this morning lol!). I do need to start exercising but been a bit put off the stretching larky as only just recovered from the other day! Walked round town for a few hours yesterday, I wonder if that counts as exercise?

Right, should really get dressed I guess and see if any more of my clothes fit!

Good luck with WI in morning. Mines not till Tues. Am with you on the whole weight loss speed being a mystery, it always seems to be when you think you've done well that nothing happens then a loss when you least expect it. At least by knowing that, a STS doesnt have to throw you off track. X
 
Hi Footie Widow. It just doesn't make sense does it! But I know by sticking to TS I've got the best possible chance so that's what I'm doing. It'll be 2 weeks tomorrow - can't believe I haven't eaten anything solid for 2 weeks!! My taste buds must be changing as I didn't really like the choc one at first but now, no problem having it cold. My personal secret to enjoying all the shakes is mixing with a hand whisk so they're frothy (and only using 250ml of water sometimes). Keep meaning to get a Smoothie 2 Go maker - will put it on my shopping list for this week.

So nothing else to report. All going smoothly so far. Not missing food at all and not got any desires to go back to fried burgers and chips (they always gave me stomach upset...but I'd still pig on them...why??!). I'm thinking a nice chicken salad will be good next weekend but I'm not gagging for it yet.

Sounds like you're doing great Midge! I love having my vanilla shake as a latte-I bought one of those milk frothers so they always feel like a real treat!! I was going to buy a smoothie 2 go but found a glass blender in morissons for £12 so went for that instead-made "ice-cream" in it a couple off weeks ago... Yummy :)
 
Ice-cream??! Sounds fab lol! Will look out for one when I'm out and about as we don't have a Morrisons here.

Well, weigh in done and that's 3lb this week. Was hoping for 4 but can't moan at 11lb in two weeks - especially as it's been so easy!!

Need to up my game this week by exercising a bit. Off for a walk round the park shortly. Lovely sunny day so no excuse not to is there!?

I havent exercised like I should of this week (week 1) on account of being cream-crackered on a night - I am hoping that once I am in ketosis I get more energy and get cracking - seems to be taking its sweet time for me
 
Hi Flubster. I don't think I could've done any exercise in the first week, it does take time for your body to adjust so take it easy.

Yes, we have a big orange thing in the sky - I've google it and it's saying it's probably something called the Sun!!

Hate to rub it in but we have the big orange ball here too. Flubster where r us cos midge and I are nowhere near each other. I use a stick blender for the shakes, find it easier to clean than a full blown blender so less washing up (I really am so lazy) and it is easier to slip in a bag if away from home. Havn't tried the ice-cream thing tho - sounds good. X
 
What a lovely day and evening! Had a 16 minute brisk walk round the park (we back on to a lovely park). Would've done 20 but didn't take my watch so it was a guesstimate :)
I'm going to do that each morning while I don't start work til lunchtime. Today was another easy day - no hunger pangs and no temptation. I want to get to goal asap and to do that I know I need to stick at TS - simples lol!

I've been so lucky on this diet, no side effects at all and because I'm totally focused I haven't struggled with being tempted (too much). It's day 14 for me so 26 to go. I've been reading other peoples diaries and it seems lots of people think an ocassional WS works for them by increasing weight loss... will have to think about it.

Right, shakes all done but need to get another pint of water down me so off I go!

Yes we can....but I'm not at the mo much lol! No movement on the scales today grrr. But I feel soooo much slimmer than a week or so ago so I'm not worrying. I took measurements about a week ago so I think I'll do that again for some inspiration (or not lol). My OH had lost 13lb in 2 weeks on Sunday morning and by Monday morning it was 16lb! So just proves that weight doesn't come off how we expect it to so I'm not going to worry too much when they don't move as much and as often as I want.

Right, off for my 20 min walk and will try to get rid of my stiff neck and head (which is the result of worrying over another weird dream last night!!)

Flubster - ahh I understand now. All my family are from the North East and having sat on a beach in July in thick overcoats while the sand whips at your legs and the wind off the north sea cuts you in half I can sympathise. Lol.

Only joking - it's a beautiful part of the country which I visit regularly as all my rellies are still up there in the Land of the Prince Bishops and Northumberland. When the sun does shine there is nowhere lovelier and trust me the warmth of the people more than makes up for any other chilliness.

Well done Midge you really do sound very committed. Had my first WI today and lost 10lb!!! Woohooh. Walking on air this morning, just goes to show attitude is a state of mind. Keep it up everyone. X
 
Midge you really do sound so positive! keep up the great work i am doing a bit of a WS but not really having a full meal just either a boiled egg and green leaves or lean meat and a few green veg it seems to be o.k for me but i would stop it as soon as it affect my weight loss xx:)

Jacquline, I'm not totally sure I'd stick to having just a bit of food...it still worries me at the moment. I'm sort of looking forward to a meal on Saturday but at the same time I'm gutted I've got to stop the TS incase it slows me down! I'm all or nothing so I think that's why this suits me so well - I'm not tempted by food as I'm just not going to have any and that's it lol.

I have had a few tummy rumbles today, felt like hunger pangs but not too bad. Bit strange as not had them before. I wonder if the little bit of exercising I've done has caused me to be a bit hungrier? I'll have a bouillon in a bit and then a bath so I'm not tempted. Actually, how can I be tempted??? There's absolutely no food in the house lol!!

Hoping the scales go down a bit in the morning, I've been the same since Sunday. But on the up side I do feel so much slimmer :)

Bah humbug!! 1/4 of a pound loss lol!! I've been totally TS so why I've only lost that in 3 days I don't know. But as I've said before, you just don't know what the scales will say tomorrow so I'm not worrying about it too much. I really wanted to lose 3lb this week (Monday is WI day) so I've got a 5 whole days to do it....and I will!

I've just been for a 30 min walk with a bit of running (a little bit!). Really enjoyed it today - the secret is music! Made a lot of difference having tunes to listen to. Right, off for my first shake of the day. Have a great day everyone - one day less to your goal if you get through today!

Loving your attitude Midge. According to my scales I have put on 2lb today!!! Don't know if it's the scales and my weekly loss wasn't as good as I thought or its fluid retention or suchlike. Had a few bouillions (and mines not the low salt one) and coke zeros to celebrate so hoping it's just fluid. I can cope with STS's but not a gain.

Determined not to let it put me off as I know this diet works so will cut down on the extras and stick with it.

Hey fw, salt makes me gain weight! It's prob just water wt. but great attitude!! That will keep u going! We all knw this works and soooo many on here to prove it does :)

Thanks everyone. I'm still going.... TS again today with no probs and no hunger so yesterday must just have been a one off. Went to Tescos tonight and did the weekly shop....water, Dr Pepper zero, Bouillon and a few toiletries lol! Bit cheaper than usual :)

Feeling fine after my walk this morning and actually looking forward to going tomorrow. I feel really well. When I got back from Tescos I scared my OH by saying I was going to wash the car! He moaned as it was 9 oclock...so maybe it'll wait til tomorrow.

Really hope the scales go down tomorrow, please Mr Weight Loss God...
