Accuracy of Dukan website phases?

I am only on day 3 of the Attack Phase. The website was so exact on the phases and how much I'd weigh at specific dates. This seems so odd to me, however maybe it is compiled from years of dieters and using an average? From your experiences, how accurate are these dates and figures? I am not in a hurry, as I don't have a particular event I am losing for. I am just tired of being this heavy.

It was reasonably accurate in my case too - give or take a week in a ~12-week schedule. I stuck to it religiously though.

When I did the details on the website it said I would lose 6lb and I lost 6.8lb. it says I will reach the target i set by mid January. I am more than half way there and if I stick to the original TW i thik I will only be a couple of weeks out.

Thats the thing I like the most about this diet, having a deadline in mind has helped keep me focused. Other diets only ever say lost 2lb a week, this diet basically said, if you stick with it and follow properly you'll lose by so and so.

Thank you so much for your replies. :)

I agree, having a particular date in mind will probably help me resist the junk food at all the get togethers, vacations, and holidays coming up that are often centered around food.

It says I should reach my target wight (which is a couple of pounds more than their suggested TW)on Christmas Day and if I go by my loss rate so far it should be pretty bang on

Hi there Hike, yeah you have that delicious Thanksgiving turkey dinner coming up soon...ohhh I love all the trimmings that go with it...mind you they are mostly carbs apart from green bean casserole and that's not too Dukan friendly but hey ho it only comes once a yr ;) I have just returned to the UK from 8 yrs in the USA and so that's when my weight started to creep on....the portions are so huge....mind you i didn't need to eat all that was put in front of me;) I'm cooking a turkey, sweet potato pie, green bean casserole, rolls etc for Thanksgving for the family and have decided to have a little of everything so as not to feel deprived but I will be filling up on the turkey. I see you have lost 6 lbs already and that's a great start. Tons of good luck, Saska x

I really like having a goal date and weight in mind that is pretty accurate if I follow the plan. Thanks!

My weight issues come from an all or nothing attitude. I know this needs to change, especially for the third and fourth phases of the diet. The toughest things for me are Mexican food, when I go out of town, and drinks with friends about once a month give or take.

Yeah tex-mex is everywhere and I love it! Best I find whilst cutting back best are chicken fajitas with no tacos and then pick at the salad...or taco salad. I volunteer to be the driver when I go and meet friends...that way I find no one is keeping on at me to drink. I know it's tough but then changes have to be made as I know you know. Cheers, Saska

Hike, i just noticed where you are from.......its one place I have always wanted to visit. Just love the idea of all those lights, not bothered about the gambling LOL.

Saska- Did you say you're back in England or living in Texas? I haven't eaten Tex-Mex, but I'd say Vegas has fantastic Mexican restaurants. I had started dieting the week before my official start date for two days until my nephew chose Mexican food food his birthday dinner on Wednesday, work chose that two days later for the staff lunch on Friday, and I had a friend in town for the weekend. Wednesday I said "forget it" and just waited to start and read up on Dukan this Monday. :p So, this Monday I was ready and got all of that out of the way. lol

Dukanfatty- Funny you've always wanted to come here! Dad's side of the family is from England about a century ago, and I've always wanted to come explore your beautiful country. :D

LOL Hike, we're never happy are we. I think its because we see things on the tv that glamourize the places we live. I'm an avid watcher of CSI Vegas and this has probably made it worse LOL. Hawaii is another place I'd love to go.

So true. I have never even watched CSI Vegas. How goofy is that!? Las Vegas is a must though. I mean, I grew up visiting Vegas at least once a year, and now have lived here going on 16 years. Whenever people come to town, I am the tourist again. Most of us don't frequent the touristy strip very often otherwise. There is really no other place like it. Obviously, if you enjoy gambling, this is the best place on the planet. The clubs and drinking here is pretty outrageous. The casinos are incredible and offer many free 10 minute shows, like the water show at the Bellagio, Pirates at Treasure Island, Volcano eruption at Mirage, etc... The shows on the Las Vegas strip are top notch. The mountains are gorgeous for hiking or rock climbling or a scenic drive anytime of the year. We have snow skiing 30 minutes away. The Grand Canyon is about 3 1/2 hours away, and definitely my favorite place on earth. The downsides are that Vegas is a desert (very little green plants or trees), and people move in and out frequently (not very kind people). I mean, I am in awe when I travel and see trees, grass, and flowers growing without being manually watered twice a day.

Hike, in my post I said I've just returned from the USA and yes I love Mexican, Tex-Mex and all those heavy foods! We have spent many long weekends in Vegas, staying at Bellagio...... although not a gambler I am always amazed at the spectacular array of lights when in the desert! I love the contrast of the buzz of Vegas and then heading to the quiet and stillness that is the Grand Canyon. A great place to visit for sure but wow how Vegas has spread over the yrs...each time we go there are more and more homes. We only go in the winter mths as I don't think I could cope in the summer although most indoor places have a/c. Hope you get to visit the UK as it too has many, many beautiful and historic places to visit and lots of naughty heavy foods ;)

Hike loved reading your post. I was there in Vegas with you for a moment xxx

Cor blimey so was I. having seen a lot of those places on tv, like CSI, Oceans 11, Miss congenialtiy, they all show different hotels, you talking about them kinda makes it more exciting LOL.

the one thing I notice though is how we measure distances. You say Grand Canyon is ONLY 3.5 hours away. It would take that amount of time for me to drive from home to London.....and thats a long way. Never likely to do it. Yet because of the size of the US, distances like that are doable for you and mentioned in a way that we might say ten mins down the road LOL.

I have lost 9 pounds in 5 days of attack and 1 PV day. I have 28 to go! I guess we lose quick at first and then it drastically tapers off?

I definitely would love to visit the UK! I hope that may happen this summer, and I will hope you all can give me some ideas on what to see or do. I love outdoor activities, the mountains, the water, and anything beautiful and adventurous. I have a friend who lives in Ireland, so I'd head over there to run around with him for a week or so, too.

Hike that's fantastic...great loss and yes you'll probs find a loss of 2-3lb a week once on cruise. But with exercise its could be more. And when you come to England a visit to the lake district is a must. Xxx

I found initially I was quicker but a the end I was about 4 weeks behind. Got there though! X

great loss Hike, well done. You'll see it slow down but its still a much better way to do it LOL
