Advice for the PrawnchopSuey

Hiyaaa, yay, well done on the 4lb loss, thats brilliant. I use to go to an adult only swimming session, I loved it, although I stayed very much in the "plodders" lane x

I wouldn't mind being in the plodders' lane as long as there were bloody lanes! I was in the 'oh, I think I'll stop swimming and stand for a bit when I'm half way up the pool' lane, mixed with the 'I think I'll do WIDTHS when everyone else is doing LENGTHS' lane. Grrr. I get pool rage ;)

well done on your amazing loss this week and good luck for that shiny next week - you deserve it!! xx

Wow another bike ride - you really are determined this week!!! Well done

I really am sooo determined, I don't know what's got into me :)
But I like it ;)

I even had a red day yesterday and although I'd planned to have roast veg couscous for tea and a green day, bunged the veg in a butternut squash instead. I'm not the biggest meat fan but it makes sense that cutting down carbs will boost weight loss.

Sooooo...last night I planned next week's menus and I'm going to alternate red and green days - 4 reds and 3 greens.

A bit apprehensive since I love my pasta and rice and pulses but I'm planning things like swede mash and BNS chips which should give me the stodge factor!

:) Thursday - green day

Breakfast - banana mid-morning

Lunch - leftover roast veg and couscous
pear

Snack - Weetabix oaty bar (HexB)

Dinner - lentil dhal and rice
Kit kat (5.5 syns)

Snack - Cheese on toast (HexA and HexB)

Made lentil dhal from the Curry Feast cookbook. It was horrible! I think I may have added too much water to cook the lentils but as well as being watery it was really really bland. Will pinch Sarah's recipe for next time ;)

Total syns: 5.5

Went for another bike ride tonight too :)

Buy the tin of chickpea dahl hun, it's lovely, free and cheap - ticking all my boxes.

Hehe, made me laugh about the random swimming styles, have you found an adult lane session now? Hope you have a lovely day and don't get rained on xxx

The lentil dhal was nice - plus it's so easy to make - hardly any chopping!! I took a pic, so will attempt to upload it over the weekend

Ooh yes, a pic would be good! Although mine did look deceptively good...

Went for another bike ride too (in the rain, how dedicated am I?!) - so that's 5 bouts of exercise this week. I better get my shiny ;)

:) Friday - green day

Breakfast - banana mid-morning

Lunch - leftover lentil dhal and rice (yuck, I had to blimmin' finish it)
pear
apple

Snack - fibre plus bar (HexB)
snackajacks (4.5 syns)

Dinner - jacket potato with beans, broccoli and cheese (HexA)
Solero (5 syns)

Total syns: 9.5

Dinner - My ASK staple when eating out: Penne del giardino (ASK Menu - allowing one and a half HexB. HexA for parmesan on top and all my daily syns)

Snack - feta salad (HexA)

Total syns: let's say 15 :)

So today begins my week of alternating red and green....

:) Sunday - red

Brunch - onion, tomato and cheese (HexA) omelette

Snacks - banana, apple, fibre plus bar (HexB)

Dinner - gammon and roast veg (red onion, pepper, courgette, tomato, aubergine, squash with garlic, sage and rosemary) with gravy (2.5 syns)

Am stuffed but will no doubt have a treat later this evening (curly wurly, Solero or fudge bar - so 5 or 6 syns)

Total syns: 8.5

Haven't done any exercise this weekend, but did spend the day wandering around the grounds at Harewood House - there was a VW festival so we went to have a nosy.

WI tomorrow, fingers crossed for my 1 stone award, but I don't feel like I will have lost that much this week, despite being good as gold...

... Well, 1lb loss for me. Bit gutted, but I am REALLY determined to get my shiny next week instead. Aim - 2lb off for this week with my red-green alternating plan. And keeping up the exercise.

First red day went OK yesterday, but today I have been staaaarving all day. Don't know if that's real though or if it's the devil in my tummy rebelling because I didn't get the loss I wanted. Will try and crush that devil under a pile of carbs this evening ;)

Yay for the pound and double yay for getting your stone award next week. I'm sure you'll have great losses chucking in some reds too. Enjoy your carbs xxx

Thanks Lou, I really really do hope I get there next week...

:) Monday - green

Breakfast - banana mid-morning

Lunch - leftover roast veg with couscous
pear
apple

Snack - fibre plus bar (HexB)

Dinner - pasta with veg sauce (onion, aubergine, courgette, pepper, celery, chopped toms) and grated cheese (HexA x 2)
Curly wurly (6 syns)

Total syns: 6

I went for a bike ride this evening too - it's getting much easier now, I think I'll have to lengthen my little circuit soon to push myself a bit harder.
Opted out of returning to the pool for the ladies' session after last week's rant ;)
So instead I'm going to put on my Steps exercise DVD and do half an hour or so of aerobics before bed - ought to tire me out :)

:) Tuesday - red

Breakfast - banana mid-morning

Lunch - grilled chicken salad (mixed leaves, coriander, pepper, tomato, cucumber, chicken, reduced fat caeser dressing (2 syns))
2 babybel light (HexA)
apple
pear

Snack - fibre plus bar (HexB)
Absent mindedly started picking at yesterday's pasta leftovers as I was boxing it up for lunch tomorrow... grrr, forgot I'm on red so there goes my second HexB

Dinner - quorn sausages and swede mash with 1tbsp onion relish (1.5 syns)
Strawberries, fat free fromage frais, sweetener and fudge bar (6 syns)

Total syns: 9.5

Today was pay day so I went to the (clothes) shops after work... so I missed out on today's bike ride :(

Got my OH to blow up my gym ball for me this evening so it has regained pride of place in the living room - going to do my gym ball DVD this evening so at least I'll get some exercise :)
