All or nothing...

Hi All,

This is my first post as not been on here before. Im looking for a calorie counting buddy. I seem to lack motivation at the moment. I'm a bit of an all or nothing sort of person. When I start a diet I am totally obsessed and stick to it for all of about 2 weeks until I slip then I go totally the opposite way eating just rubish as I have 'messed up'. I wonder if anyone else here is the same? I have tried the slimming world diet before but I found it not strict enough for me so im starting calorie counting at 1300 a day from tomorrow. I have about 4 stone to loose.. wish me luck!

How are you finding it fatlassnomore? How much have you lost so far? My main problem is that I dont drink half as much water as I should, thats the first mission for today :) x
 
So day one went well, my diary as follows:

Breakfast - 2x oatcakes with 15gs of cashew butter and a small banana (188 kcal)

Mid-Morning snack - Apple (70kcal)

Lunch - Heinz potato and leek soup and an orange (233kcal)

Mid-Afternoon snack - Fruit flakes (66kcal)

Dinner - Skate wing (200g) potatoes and veg (600kcal)

Desert - Yogert and blueberries (150kcal)

Total 1307/1400

...and not felt hungry at all!! :)
 
Well done. I must try cashew butter sounds yummy! I've only lost a few pounds but pleased at that as I am having 'treat nights' on a Saturday and it sometimes spills over into Sunday! I've been doing 5:2. As long as the numbers are going down on the scales I'm not bothered how slow it is as I feel (for the first time in years) that I'm eating normally! I weigh in on a Tuesday. I'd like a stone off by Xmas.
 
Cashew butter is well worth a try, no sugar like some normal peanut butters. I thought about trying 5:2 but I will just get the hang of calorie counting first. A couple of pounds is good, I'd be really happy with that. Good luck with weigh in this week, let me know how you get on :) x
 
A new week, a new start is what I say :). Would you mind posting one of your diaries? It sounds silly but I struggle to hit my allowance of 1400 when im dieting as my brain tells me im eating too much. Today I have eaten just only 1000 calories but havent felt hungry. I tend to have only half my calories whilst im at work and leave the rest for dinner in the evening which im too full to use. I need 'healthy' ideas apart from fruit during the day. Tia x
 
I will do. I'm the opposite, I always have enough calories. In the meantime, have you tried Graze boxes? They're lovely and they do lovely light ones too. Apart from them I usually mainly eat fruit. I'm a fruitaholic! I also have apple crisps (my daughters!), low cal crisps or make my own popcorn as well as vegetables such as carrot, cucumber or celery sticks.
 
Oo they are some good ideas, thanks very much! I have had a look at trying the graze boxes, they look yummy and all the calories are on there which makes it easier. Im trying really hard not to weigh midweek but im going to try and wait untill monday. Enjoy this week x
