Aloize's Diary

How's the add a meal week going Aloize?

Hi All,

It's been a strange week. I've managed to lose 2lbs which I'm really surprised about as it was add a meal week and TOTM. Adding a few extra calories, although low carb, definitely made me feel hungrier but I didn't feel as tired as the week before. I tend to be fine until about Thursday and then crash! Could be just because that is the end of my working week and in the old days I'd reward myself with a big sugar rush.

Went for my meal out last night and I was so dedicated to the diet I ate some meat rather than risk a vegetarian carb overload. I just don't enjoy meat so find it easier to be vegetarian. I didn't want to break my diet so I had a skinny burger at the harvester and managed to eat half of it. It was 100% beef so even though would have contained lots of fat, it was no carbs. I then added the salad bar-just plain salad stuff and a tiny bit of balsamic dressing. Also had a couple of pepsi max's which would have put me out of Keto but I actually feel ok today and not too hungry.

I've started day 29 with maple syrup pancakes. Tomorrow will be 30 days on the diet. I initially could only see this far ahead but now I am determined to do another 30 days and see where I am. It's actually gone quite quick and hasn't been as bad as I thought. The weekends are tough but that's true on any diet.

Hope everyone has had a successful week on the scales. I really hope to see the back of the 16 stones by end of next week.

So excited, I found the malic acid flavoured water in sainsburys. It was the cherries and berries one. No citric acid and 20 kals per litre. This will help with the wter intake.

Just about to try the vanilla cupcakes.

Another 2lbs down -yay! :D

I'm still a bit undecided about adding food next week - don't think I really will, I'm on too much of a roll to spoil things! :)

Day 30

12pm pea, ham and mushroom soup pack
5pm spaghetti bolognaise pack
9pm double choc bar

All good. 30 days has gone so quick. Hoping the next 30 are just as successful.

Here's to another stone off in February! :)

Wow - I really need to change my mind's mode right now! It's rather "ugh how many more days of deprivation to go?" Rather than "wow, I lost 18lbs not bad, let's see about losing another 18" no matter how much I want this weight off I feel that I'm doing it against me instead of for me. Is that making any sense? Not giving up though... It's just so much easier when you aren't your worst enemy.:blackeyed:

well done on the weight loss Aloize :) how were the cupcakes ? I have some but not tried them yet x

Just catching up - well done on the loss.

Well they were OK but felt like a snack. At least when I have a bar or meal pack, I feel I haven't missed out. The pack made 3 little cupcakes and they tasted OK. wasn't as keen on the raspberry topping as a bit too artificial. At least they were free.

Been thinking today about what I have learnt/noticed over the last 30 days of exante

  • I do have strong willpower. When I put my mind to something I can do it
  • I can now sleep on my front again
  • I can now cross my legs again
  • my top 3 packs are: spaghetti bolognaise, jam and yoghurt crunch and the maple syrup pancakes
  • I feel more positive about my weight than I have in ages
  • I am lighter than I was before I got pregnant 3 years ago
  • I quite like most of the packs except raspberry porridge
  • My son was already picking up bad eating habits from me such as snacking on biscuits rather than fruit and veg. Noticed now I'm not eating them.
  • Sometimes this diet is lonely
  • I feel bad that I got into this mess where I need to be so extreme in my way out of it
  • I sorted my wardrobe and discovered lots of nice clothes I had forgotten about
  • I don't need food to be happy
  • I don't need food to make me feel better
  • I can run up the stairs without feeling out of breath
That's it for now but I'm sure I'll think of some more later

I lIke the way you think... Kinda like inspiration for days you feel a little less enthusiastic you can come back here and refocus. I'm going to have to find reasons/positive reward for doing this. Otherwise just saying "to lose weight" isn't enough of a motivator... It gets old and it just isn't enough

Hi Aloize

It's lovely to read about how well everyone including you is progressing..it makes me feel so motivated and think I can do this too.

But I feel like I should tell you off for saying:

  • I feel bad that I got into this mess where I need to be so extreme in my way out of it
I have so so so many regrets. I'm turning 29 and I have spent all my 20's being self conscious. I have not allowed my career or relationships to progress because of how I felt about my weight.

Sometimes when people i know mention that my weight has fluctuated that only upsets me further and I think I must be viewed as so weak willed...but other days I think why am I beating myself up! I should be proud that I've realised I could improve my life by losing weight, and I should be proud that I make attempts to lose weight. I'm rambling on a little now but the point is don't feel bad, recognise that you should be proud of yourself. There are so many people out there who need to lose weight for various reasons and are doing nothing about it. You are xxx

Hi Aloize
I've been reading ur diary with interest. Huge congratulations on what you have already achieved. You should be really proud of urself.
Have you lost any dress sizes? Xxx

What a lovely, inspiring post :)

@aloize and @quirkyme - there should be no such thing as regrets or feeling bad about ourselves.

We make decisions in life - some are good, some bad. We can't change the past, so we need to make sure the future is better by making good decisions, like doing something positive for ourselves.

And we've all already started the positive decisions by starting our diets.

Hi Aloize can you help? I tried to find the water you mentioned in Sainsbury's 'The malic acid flavoured water with cherries and berries' but could only find this one: http://www.sainsburys.co.uk/shop/gb...raspberry---cherry-squash--no-added-sugar-15l but it has citric acid in it, which one did you buy, as I'm getting bored of water ! Thanks :)

Hi it was actually this one. Not sure where I got cherries fromhttp://www.sainsburys.co.uk/shop/gb/groceries/sainsburys-blackcurrant---cherry-sparkling-flavoured-water-1l
It's got a bit of natural juice but only a tiny bit. I've been OK on it so far makes a changed to boring water
