I conceived my little boy in 2011 using clomid and metformin it worked on the second cycle and now I've got my appointment with the consultant in Sept im looking for ladies in the same boat for a little support

Was anyone given Clomid when they were around 93kg? My consultant refused to give it until I hit 73kg. I tried to tell him that I had read women who were heavier than me had been given Clomid and it was successful but he said that in the area I live in they had been given strict rules on when they can give Clomid![]()
Heya, im in the same boat, on the fertility clinic they said they cant help me at all, until ive reached bmi 30 (wich for me is 70kg) i was 98kg at the time. i do have metformin wich been upped by the endocrinologist from 500mg twice a day to 850. I also started with orlistat (might be an idea to talk to your doctor about it, its not a miracle medicine, you still need to work for it, but it does help me getting steady weightloss), and joined slimming worl, so working on getting to that 70 kg to get referred back again.
They said that a big reason is that the heavier you are, the more riscs for complications, and they dont want to make that happen. alltough just by loosing 10%, will do wonders for your body and you might even conceive withouth clomid
Hi Panni
I'm on Orlistat. Lost about 7 pounds in the first couple of weeks but for the past two weeks I've not lost anythingI am exercising more than I was before I started taking the tablets and I am eating better so I'm not sure what's going on. It's quite frustrating actually! I take 3 tablets of metformin each day, each tablet is 500mg. Today I have just felt really sick all day with a headache
