Anyone else suffering with Hypothyroidism??

Ok so I've been doing lots of reading and research online into losing weight with thyroid issues and the majority of sites say that gluten free is the way forward... Has anyone tried this?

I've cut out gluten for nearly a week now, I've got myself some gluten free bread and pasta and whatever else is in my house with gluten I simply will not eat!

I must say I do feel better, I don't get bloated after food and I feel like a have a little more energy and energy is a rarity these days!

WI tomorrow... Fingers crossed for a good result! I'm not expecting miracles here! I've accepted that this is going to be a slow process but please let my loss be more than 0.5lb!!

Good luck to you all at WI this week!

Good luck! Sounds interesting about gluten free, but I just don't think i could do it. I know if I cut down on processed carbs (bread pasta - the gluten ones!) I do better with weightloss. Mostly I find processed foods of any sort slow down my weightloss! Let me know how u get on tomorrow!

Well.... I lost 2lbs! Very pleased!

I think this gluten free malarkey is doing some good! I've cut out all processed stuff because it usually has gluten in it and I've got gluten free bread and pasta, both of which I must say are very nice!

Ok so it could be just a flook but maybe not?? We'll see what happens next week! I do feel much better though and my hypo symptoms are easing, so it must be doing some good, right? :)

Hope you all did well this week :)

Go forth and shrink!

Fab well done! Def worth the effort!

Well done! After a maintain last week I got 3lbs off this week! So happy!

So glad I found this thread! I've had an under active thyroid for about 8 years, struggled with weight loss since then. Last year I had gallstones and because of the pain I lived on soup and lost a stone, this motivated me to keep going. I started doing 45mins of Zumba a day and lost another two stone! But then my levels fluctuated again my dose has been increased by 100mg to 250mg, this came with the inevitable weight gain. I was so disheartened by it and felt like I was being punished for something, so just gave up and am now back to where I started :(
I decided I need to take control of my weight, so joined SW online, my first week I was amazed to have lost 7lbs! Need to start introducing some exercise into my routine now and keep the momentum going! :)
Hopefully we can all give each other support to keep on track as we all know how difficult it is x :)

I def find the exercise helps if only to raise metabolism levels a bit! I am on 300mg daily but think it'll come down to 250mg soon as I'm due a blood test soon and there's no way it can go up any more! My weightloss is slowing down :( but I still have 4 st to go really hope its not due to thyroid. Any slower and i'll have to consider the gluten free diet :(

I really noticed the difference in my body last time with the exercise, started looking toned. Now I'm all blubbery again :(
Need to be back on the exercise bandwagon!
Hopefully your thyroids not playing up again, bloody thing is a pain in the arse! Perhaps you're system is used to the exercise etc now and you just need to mix it up a little. Good luck :)
