April Goal challenge anyone??

I dont think you can say 'the thread is staying the way I like it' THAT is up to other participants to decide, if they want to cut and paste it they can and they will, if they chose not to thats fair enough. Theres no point in having 2 identical threads with 2 identical targets and identical weekly updates thats just not going to happen. Theyll get merged at the very least. No forum has 2 identical challenges

The ball is now in the court of people participating in the thread its up to them what they want to do, if they want to cut and paste themselves then they can, you cant stop them from doing that, if theyre happy to leave things as they are - then thats again their choice too :)

No ones forcing anyone to take part in this challenge, i explained the way it was going to be and still people joined so if they decide now they don't like it well then either do a diff challenge or stay on this one- not sure why its so hard to do. This diets stressful enough without coming to a place you think of your sanctuary and being dictated to on a thread thats been going on a while now. If this was such a problem others should have said in the beginning or not have joined.

Good luck to everyone either way- stay strong with the diet

They perhaps didnt realise it was being run in such a different way, and its only now that the first weigh in of the month has started that they realise this is different from normal and are now voicing their opinions. They probably havent realised its not a normal monthly challenge until this weekend?

The thing is though even if people do prefer to cut and paste their own losses it doesnt mean you cant still update the original post does it - sort of a compromise best of both worlds and a win win situation :)

I've said me thoughts on the matter and if people wish to disregard them that's their choice, i'll stick around to the end of the challenge to not let people down who have joined the challenge but i'll not be on the site after that if that's the case.

If I decide to carry on the April challenge I shall be copying and pasting my losses myself. You can still update your first page by all means.

You appear to be taking this way too personally CD! Starlight, as a mod, was just giving some friendly advice about how the majority of challenges are run! No one is disregarding your thoughts, but everyone is entitled to participate in forum challenges, and they should suit everyone :(

How about starting a new one-maybe a bank holiday challenge? Starting Monday, and ending 8 weeks later? On the jubilee bank holiday? Just a thought xx

I like this idea xx

I wouldnt dream of joining a challenge and then complaining about the way its run when ive not been forced to join it and it's been outlined how it will be done, it's just disrespectful to me- and yes i do take that personal and very rude to carry on a conversation as if op wasnt here (thatde be me) and disregard my thoughts on the whole thread. If someone had come to me and talked it over that would have been great but for a mod to just dictate and take over what will happen and for others to carry on with it without even that courtesy of talking to me, well thats not how i live and treat people in my day to day life and certainly wouldnt do that in any other aspects of it like a forum either.

Cat for the upmpteenth time I AM NOT dictating whats happening. It is quite clear from people who are actually participating in this that they dont like the change in it and by and large didnt realise it wasnt just going the same as the others.

All Ive said is other peoples opinions need to be listened to as well and if people want to cut and paste you have to let them.

I pointed out that it wasnt a good idea at the start and you put me in my place then and I quite happily left it because it quite honestly makes not a bit of difference to me, like I said I dont do challenges. HOWEVER the fact people dont like the way youre doing it, and didnt realise at the start that this is how youre running it has now been flagged up to me because Im a Moderator, then I do need to respond to that.

Like I said its quite clear what people prefer and to be honest when people see a Challenge thread they dont necessarily look to see if there are 'rules' they just assume theyre all running the same way.

If people want to cut and paste their losses themselves then quite honestly you cant stop them and from the feedback now it looks like thats what people plan to do. Like I said though theres nothing to stop you keeping your original post updated

To be honest, if this is going to keep going as nothing but an argument then the thread is going to get closed!!!

Yeah that's cool! Just to let you know, if I set it up, then it will be started as the standard cut and paste as I don't fancy the responsibility of updating everyone's losses-they can do that themselves :) x

Thats a good idea WT but that would be obviously separate. The Easter one is the only longer term one we have running just now so we're due another, we usually have a couple of longer ones as well as the monthly one :)

If I set up a jubilee thread, can that be made a sticky please Sandy? x

Absolutely :)

Thanks muchly!! :) I'm all set and ready to go-have emailed rob today, and am ordering my sample pack tomorrow when I sort my cash out from my savings lol x

OK - everyone please calm down and stop posting to each other now - and yes I DO MEAN YOU!!!! From now on can I ask that people only update this thread in the way requested by catdog and creat a new bank holiday challenge which is updated in the previous manner? Then people can choose which (or both) challenges to take part in. Personally I joined this challenge knowing how it was going to be run - if I hadn't liked it I would have started a new thread.

I don't see why there needs to be an arguement  people have said they are happy to have a stickie set up separately and i'm all for it and this can be kept with the first page updated and as support.
